Christmas Table Decorations - Candy canes and twine

This year I decided to decorate our Christmas table with a little more thought than usual, Pinterest is the culprit for this! Whilst looking for Christmas crafted gifts, I came across beautiful table decorations which made my crafty brain get a little over excited.

Spuntino - London

Perfectly moody American Tapas.

Whilst visiting London last week with a friend for a spot of Christmas shopping, we stopped off at Spuntino. I've never been before but wanted to go for ages, and I was not disappointed.
We stumbled across it - the outside was black and difficult to see the name, which gives you a sense of what's to come.

We walked in to find a tiny place, set out with a bar and seats around it, the lights were dimmed, the music was low, moody and rocky. I loved it! We sat at the end of the bar and was soon greeted by the guy behind the bar who took our drink order. My friend ordered a Spuntino iced tea - it was so tasty, not sure what he put in it but it was good. I ordered a Camden Pale Ale which was really good too served in a half pint glass tankard.

Monday Must - The Chai Latte

Not fashion related at all, unless you're drinking this whilst wearing your most Christmassy outfit then maybe, but this mix is so good!

It's the Spiced Chai Latte mix from Drink Me, the very same one used at Cafe Nero apparently. Cafe Nero actually have the best Chai Latte's so I was very excited when I saw this on the shelves of Tesco so I popped it in my basket without a second thought.

Chai latte's remind me of Christmas so much, they are a perfect been of spices and of course tea, the only other thing that is as good as this is a hot chocolate with all the trimmings.

If you have never had a chai latte, but you love anything that tastes like cinnamon you have to try one of these! It's so easy to make, heat up some milk in a pan, add in three teaspoons of this blend and mix until combined, pour into your favourite mug, sprinkle some cinnamon no top and you're good to go.

Monday Must - The Velvet Heels

THE velvet shoes, you know the ones, the most perfect shoes that Fearne Cotton showed off on her Instagram yesterday? Then sold out within minutes? Yeah well those ones.

Aren't they just beautiful! These are definitely a winner in my eyes, the perfect shape and the little ankle strap and of course the fact they're dusky pink velvet! *swoon*

Asos Pablo heels in dusky pink velvet

Unfortunelty they are out of stock and who knows if they will come back into stock any time soon, but they do have black velvet ones, which look really nice. Obviously not as impressive but still, they're very sweet.

Very tempted, as my birthday is this month and I would love some new birthday heels! But with a pair of heels I would have to buy a dress to go with!

Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market

Happy December!
Now that it is the magical month of December it's time to get festive! So myself, my boyfriend and a friend decided to go to the Winchester Christmas market. I had never been there before and I was pleasantly surprised. I already love Winchester - the chilled atmosphere, the range of restaurants and the history all draw me in. Plus for this month the Cathedral has been turned into a Christmas wonderland!

Outfit - The Blanket Scarf

Good Morning and happy Sunday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and grabbed yourselves some bargains in the Black Friday deals, I sure did.
I bought a scarf I've been coveting for so long now, and I'm so glad I finally have it. It is a massive blanket scarf from John Lewis, it is so warm and soft and I love it beyond belief. The scarf itself is made of 100% cashmink...I'm guessing that's a cashmere substitute?

I love the colours in the scarf, the dark green and black mixed with the bright orange and grey, which makes is so easy to wear. Making it easier to wear is the fact it is double faced, the other side is a grey and black chevron pattern, which is equally wonderful. It had 20% off which made me snap it up straight away and came to around £31 which is a lot cheaper than before!

I wore the scarf with my favourite jumper, a basket weave high neck from Warehouse, which I bought last year in the Christmas sales. It is so warm and I love this kind of knit, my cat also loves it which is annoying because it is prone to pulling.

I also wore my winter coat as it was really chilly outside, I also bought this in the Christmas sales and bagged a £100+ coat for £30! Sometimes it really is worth buying your winter coat in the sales. I bought it from Urban Outfitters and it is made by the Cooperative. It keeps me so warm, and now plus the scarf I just love how cosy I am whilst wondering around various Christmas markets!
How are you keeping warm this winter, and are you planning on going to any Christmas markets this year?

Monday Must - The Needle Punch Floral Coat

This is the perfect time to buy a new coat as most coats are now in stores, so there is a lot of choice and your size should be available - unlike waiting for the sales.
Now onto my Monday Must...this Needle Punch Floral Coat from Jigsaw, it is gorgeous and it is very 'me'. However the price isn't very me, at £298, it is very much out of my price range but that won't stop me lusting over it every time I see it!

Review - Nightwing Shower Jelly from Lush

The kind of jelly you probably shouldn't eat, but it is amazing to wash with!

As you have probably seen all over bloggers Instagrams and youtube channels Lush's Halloween collection has been amazing! I thought I would show you Nightwing Shower Jelly which my boyfriend bought for me a few weeks ago.

Recipe - Simple but Tasty Vegetable Soup

Now it's getting colder outside and the days are getting shorter, what's nicer than curling up on the sofa with a big bowl of soup with a massive chunk of crusty bread whilst watching your favourite show?
Nothing because this soup is so tasty!

Outfit - Borg Denim Jacket

Last week I bought this denim borg jacket and I am in love! It's so cosy and makes me look slightly cool - generally this is a hard thing to do so anything that helps is a bonus in my book. I bought it from Topshop, I ordered the 8 but I needed the 10, so swapped it in store and it fits like a dream.

The Stable - Winchester

Recently Craig and I went to Winchester, whilst there we got really hungry so Craig suggested going to The Stable - cider and pizza is all he had to say and I was already looking forward to it! I'm not sure when it opened but I think it was recently, as I've never seen it before. Craig had been there a few days previous to try some of their 60 different ciders with a few friends.

Outfit - The Midi Cardigan

Ok so Autumn isn't in full swing yet, but I bought this cardigan the other day from New Look as it just looked and felt so cosy! I wore it with my cropped striped t-shirt from Monki, however I have now found a little hole in it, which makes me sad - it's such a nice top, may need to buy a new one.

Outfit - You ain't going to heaven, cos I'm taking you down to hell...

wolf alice t-shirt with black a line skirt and leather jacket

The last time I saw Wolf Alice was at Glastonbury in the rain whilst pretty half cut, so seeing them again inside the O2 Guildhall in Southampton completely sober was a completely different experience.

Bills Restaurant - Salisbury

Last week I went to visit my sister in Salisbury and obviously our worlds revolve around food, who's doesn't? So we went for lunch, I had never been to Bill's before and I've always wanted to, seeing as there is one in Salisbury we decided to go.

Autumn Wishlist

I love Autumn, it's my favourite season, the leaves are looking ultra pretty, the jumpers are out and the coffee is flowing. Gone are the days of an ice drink in Starbucks, onto the warm Vanilla Lattes and pastries that will warm up the chilliest of days. This season is all about getting boots and coats that will keep you cosy this winter.
Seeing as I don't have enough money for all these things I thought I would make a wishlist instead!

My autumn wishlist
All the things I need in my wardrobe this autumn

From left to right:
I really need a chunky black cardigan, I don't have one and I would love something that I can just throw on, know I'll look good and be super warm!
Oh god these boots! Boot heaven. Enough said.
This waistcoat is to die for! I tried it on in River Island and restrained from buying it then and there! However I bought Elle magazine the other day and low and behold there is a 25% off voucher for River Island in it! Hello jacket ;)
Fedora £28
Such a cute fedora, I love the gold detailing.
Striped top £22
Can't go wrong with a striped top!
Mmmmm burgundy, with the seasons must have - cord.
I'm actually going to go and buy these today, I really need a pair of nice flats that aren't boots.
I love this scarf, the colours and the fact it is huge, so I could really bundle up in it on cold days.

I have strong feelings towards winter clothes, I just love them. I love being covered in multiple layers and feeling snug, so I just need to get some money together to be able to buy 1,000 jumpers!
What's on your Autumn Wishlist?

Lush - Dreamwash Roulade Review

Whilst our recent trip to Brighton we went into the newly refurbished Lush store, to get some goodies. I picked up a few bath bombs as well as Dreamwash. I have used Dreamwash before, but I've always had it in the usual packaging, after speaking with the assistant I found that they no longer sell that version and only sell it in the roulade form.

Lush roulade of dream wash

I wasn't too sure about it at all, but I knew the product is the same so I decided to buy it and give it a go. Usually I love every lush product I use however I am finding it very hard to get on with this. Upon first use I wasn't sure what the green thing around it was for, it feels like a wax and I'm guessing it was there to keep it from drying out? If anyone knows please tell me! I'm guessing they have gotten rid of the plastic packaging because of the waste it causes.

Bought the Lush Dreamwash Roulade

Thankfully I still had the packaging from the last dreamwash I bought so I have put it in there to keep it fresh - I feel - like a lot of their cleansers/soaps that have not got any packaging - that when I leave it on the side of my bath it just gets very messy and I don't like leaving it there.

The product itself is great, and unlike shower gel it doesn't lather up, which isn't a problem as it's more like a soap, so I only use it in specific areas where I usually get eczema.

Close up of dream wash roulade

Don't get me wrong, I love this product as it helps to calm my skin when I have bouts of eczema which is great and it also makes me feel so clean after using it. Like squeaky clean! The smell isn't great, well it doesn't really smell like anything - which I guess is because it's good for sensitive skin. Thankfully other products from lush make up for the lack of scent!

I would say to buy this product if you have any skin problems as it really helps mine but just realise that you may have to get a container for it as it is quite messy without one.
Have you ever tried dream wash, what do you think of the new (lack of) packaging?

Outfit - The Floral Shirt

I have a huge obsession with floral shirts, not any old floral shirt, mainly the kind with massive flowers on them, a good old 80's style floral shirt is perfection - the bigger the print the more I love it.
I bought this one about two months ago and I couldn't love it more, I think it is my favourite shirt I have ever bought. I bought it from Warehouse, where they also do a cream version which I lust over every day I see it at work!

Brighton Adventure - Snooze Guesthouse Brighton

Last week my boyfriend and I went to Brighton for a mini holiday just for a few nights. We've been to Brighton before but we've always stayed closer to the seafront, however this time we decided to stay in a guesthouse in Kemptown called Snooze. We realised soon after getting there that it was the right choice!

Some Like It Hot - Great Dorset Chilli Festival

The Great Dorset Chilli Festival

This weekend my Dad and I went to a Chilli Festival in Wimborne St Giles, in Dorset. I have never been to any sort of food festival before but I really enjoyed this, and I'm not even a huge lover of chilli's - I'm more on the mild to medium chilli vibe.

Outfit - The Striped Top

I love stripes! Mainly this kind -black with white stripes, it's like stripe heaven. This top didn't even cost me much, it was £4 in Primark! You don't have to spend a lot of money to get a cool chic vibe, which is always good in my opinion.

Outfit - Transeasonal Green

A few days after writing my last blog I went into town and spent some money on clothes! Yay. I tried on quite a bit in Topshop and came out with a few bits, which was quite nice. I decided to buy clothes which I could easily wear throughout winter as well as the rest of our summer.

This dress is just perfect for this. The colour, the shape, the fabric - perfect. Oh and the price! This basic green high neck dress was only £20, which in my mind is a bargain, seeing as I will happily wear this ALL THE TIME. It is ultimately comfortable, the colour is the best kind of green you can get - in my opinion - and the neck line is just well great.

I don't have any flat summer shoes, which aren't converse or vans, so I decided black boots will do today. It wasn't too hot so I guessed these would pass as ok footwear for summer. In my eyes boots are always ok to wear - ok maybe not when it's so hot that you melt as soon as you leave the house...that is my exception.

Forgive Me Blog For I Have Sinned

Hello,

I have been away for too long and for that I apologise. I have struggled for some time in working out where I place within the blogging world. I came into blogging three years ago now, when it was starting to gain more and more momentum into the powerhouse it is today. A lecturer at University told us all, that blogs were the future and we should all be blogging about anything and everything. I decided to start this blog, writing about what I knew...my own personal style.

This was fine throughout university as I was always wearing whatever I wanted and I always had spare time to take outfit photos and write up pieces. Nowadays I work full time, where I wear an all black uniform and I find it difficult to find time to wear anything else. Home from work - leggings, jeans or my pyjamas are my first ports of call.

Then on my days off I am so busy with other things that it is very hard to fit things in, especially when blogging has completely gone out of the window. I also find that I buy less clothes now as I don't have as much time to wear them! I still absolutely love clothes and personal style. It's funny as I work in the womenswear department of John Lewis, where I merchandise great brands, such as Warehouse - which I adore. I see all the newest clothes and I always have something in my hold pile! I feel like I may have lost my passion for it, and getting a work/life balance as proven very difficult, I seem to see clothes as work now rather than play! However I know in the back of my mind that I really want to get back into this world.

I have always been passionate about fashion and style, and mine has definitely changed throughout the years (for the better) much like near enough everyone reading this! *cough* stripy arm warmers *cough* *cough* parachute pants with tassels *cough* - that one I am most ashamed of.

On a slightly different note, I find the blogging community quite intimidating - I am not the most social person with people who I do not know, as I feel like I will be judged for not having great make up application (eyeshadow is my problem, I just can't apply it properly!) or the wrong lip stick colour on. I have gotten better through the years of being 'grown up' but I still find it hard, it really scares me - walking into a room where everyone knows everyone and no one knows you. Daunting! (this is just speculation as I have never had the courage to ever go to one!)

I also feel that blogging has changed throughout the years, it is more about advice than looking at what someone is wearing - which is great and I do enjoy reading them. However I feel that a lot of advice blogs have already been written or talked about. I think I want to go into more lifestyle posts - more restaurant reviews, travel writing, decorating ideas and tips etc.

I really want to carry this blog on and really develop it into something I am really proud of. So please bare with me and I know that my little piece of the internet will grow and expand with me, as I get more ballsy and become more confident in my own skin.

Thanks for sticking around!

Pie and Vinyl Southsea

Recently my boyfriend and I ventured out to Southsea - a seaside town in Portsmouth, where we were recommended a place called Pie and Vinyl by a friend. This restaurant does exactly what it says on the tin, it serves pie and also sells vinyl - where two beautiful worlds collide and it works perfectly well!

Pie&Vinyl sign

Pie and Vinyl is located down Castle Street in Southsea, which is around a 15 minute walk from the parks across the seafront - perfect for a quick and simple lunch, but also packed with flavour and goodness!

The decor alone is amazing, with a cute vintage feel throughout the whole place - walking in you are instantly greeted by someone who works there. We decided to have lunch first and then go for a browse around the vinyl, so we picked a table and perused through the menu.

Pie&Vinyl menu

There were so many pie's to chose from, so it made the choice quite difficult - because I wanted to try them all! But I settled on the Irish special - Lamb Stew with Whisky (It was Saint Patricks Day after all). I ordered it as 'the works' which means you get the pie with mash, minted peas and a choice of either the traditional pie liquor or gravy. I chose liquor as I'd never had it before.

We also ordered drinks, I had a Strawberry and Kiwi sparkling cordial and my boyfriend had a sparkling Cream Soda cordial. The waitress brought them over in two different tea pots, which was a cute touch, and you can get around 2/3 glasses of the drink - which is great because it was so tasty! It was lovely to have a different choice of drinks instead of the usual coke or lemonade!

Strawberry and Kiwi Sparkling cordial.

The whole atmosphere of this place was so welcoming, it's chilled and cafe like, but they also have quirky details, as well as the amazing music that is playing. The walls are covered in music memorabilia, along with teapots and little knick-knacks, which just made it a really awesome place!

When the pies came out I couldn't wait to try it - it looked delicious!

Irish Stew Pie with traditional pie liquor

My pie was so good - the pastry was just the right kind of crispy, and the lamb was perfectly cooked inside - it was literally falling apart! The pie also had potatoes, carrots and a whiskey gravy. The liquor was interesting (in a good way!!) and it worked perfectly with the whole dish. Again the mash and peas were so good, I just wanted to eat it over and over again!
I tried some of Craig's - Chicken and Chorizo pie, which was so tasty, very different from mine but wonderfully delicious.

Table in Pie&Vinyl

After devouring our pies, we slowly wondered over to the vinyl side of this wonderful little place, where we flicked through many records from new to old, unfortunately Craig couldn't find the vinyl he was hoping to find, but it was fun none the less.

I'm quite surprised they haven't branched out into other cities (come to Southampton!) such as London - there would be a queue out of the door all of the time! I will definitely be visiting here again because I need to try all the different pies!

Outfit - Sixties Swing Dress

Dress - Warehouse £26
Jacket - Topshop old
Boots - Topshop old
Satchel - Primark old

It may not be spring yet, but myself like many of you are lusting over the new clothes that are coming into the shops. I recently found this dress in warehouse and I fell in love instantly!
It is perfect.
You literally can not go wrong with stripes and this dress is no exception. The high neck is so flattering, as well as the swing style with short sleeves so basically it could not get any better.

Red lip and stripes, need I say more?

I decided to wear a red lipstick with this outfit as I feel that the dress needs a red lip to go with it! Nothing else matters with this outfit, as the red lip and stripe say it all.

White satchel to go with the stripe.
Ok ok, so I said this outfit didn't need anything else, well I had to have a bag, so I went for my white satchel from Primark. I also wore some black tights, Topshop black Astrix boots as well as my Topshop faux leather jacket (old).

I can't wait to wear this dress through the summer and get a lot of wear out of it!

Simple Spring Wishlist

As I work in a clothing department I have loved seeing the spring styles coming through the doors, it was a long time coming! I really love winter clothes but there's just something about Spring that really gets my heart pumping.

It could be because it's getting lighter in the mornings and not getting dark till later, and everything just feels refreshed or it could be because I've finally been paid like many people! I have been keeping my wish lists up to date and here is a selection of the items that are firmly in there, I just wish I could buy it all!

From left to right:
