Bikini Crisis!

I've been trying to find a long line and high waisted bikini for ages, for my holiday in July, after searching everywhere on the high street I turned to ASOS. They have so many products they were bound to have at least one that I liked.
I was right, I found this one from their mix and match range, both £16 each.

They looked amazing on the website, and sure enough when I got them through they looked just as the ones in the photographs. I tried it all on and the bottoms fitted really well, however the top did not.

First off the top was available in bra sizes, however there was only a size that was too big, but I bought it anyway in hope it wouldn't be...well it was. It looked really nice, the shape was perfect, but it is just miles to big around the back.

I then decided to see if they had any other tops that go with the bottoms, then I came across a top that was more of a standard bikini shape, they had my size and I decided to order three sizes just to make sure the top fitted properly.

I got them in the post today, and somehow none of them fit me properly?! I am screwed, they do not have any more stock in any of the tops on their website, so I'm not sure whether to adjust the first top I bought, or to return all of it including the bottoms.

If anyone knows of any high waisted bikini's that won't break the bank I would be very grateful!

Berber Oil™ Hair Treatment by Osmo

http://www.osmo.uk.com/
This is the second product I got in my Glossy Box this month, and wow-ee it is good!
For starters it smells amazing, and it is so easy to apply to your hair. I put it on when my hair was damp, however you can apply it to dry hair as well, which makes this product so versatile. I then dried it with my hair dryer and hey presto it made my hair so shiny!
It contains Argon Oil that helps with dry and brittle hair to give your hair the goodness it needs, and trust me after dying my hair since the age of 14 it needs a bit of goodness!
It is a great little treatment which you don't need to worry about washing out, it just stays in your hair and makes it super shiny!

It is £19.99 for a bottle of 100ml which isn't bad, considering the small sample size bottle is only 10ml and I've only used a fraction of it. I really do recommend this product, it helps you restore the natural shine and softness to your hair without the hefty price tag at a salon.

The Crop Top

Much to my surprise I have started to like crop tops, which a few months ago I hated with a passion. However after thinking about it, if you put the crop tops with something high-waisted they can actually look really good. So after looking on Topshop.com and filling up my basket with an array of items; which I shall get on to, in good time, I stumbled upon their basic crop tee. The colours were to die for, with a soft mottled effect, I had to at least try them out. So I bought two, a light yellowy green and blue, hoping they would fit me.

They arrived and I the yellowy/green top was darker than I thought, as the image on the website makes it look near enough light grey. But I love it anyway, I have nothing else that colour in my wardrobe so I was really excited to inject a bit of colour.

I'm wearing the yellow on today with my River Island maxi skirt, which works amazingly with the mottle effect on the top.

I'm also wearing my favourite necklace from Topshop, I love the gold against the yellow I think it compliments it well. I will probably wear this outfit with my black vans to complete a sports luxe look.

Happy Birthday Glossy Box

It's Glossy Box's 1st birthday this month and to celebrate they have sent out these special box's complete with balloon and birthday wrapping paper.

The box is full of beautiful products; as usual. However I got a free compact mirror, which is so helpful as I never have one in my bag, but not I do! Perfect.
As well as this I got a few products, including two sample sized versions of Apivita's express beauty with honey - moisturizing and nourishing mask with honey. Which you can see here

As soon as I saw them there I wanted to try it out. I opened the packet and it smelt gorgeous, which is always good when you are going to be leaving it on your face for 10 minutes!
During this time my face became warm so I could tell something was working, which was a bit odd but it wasn't uncomfortable.
This face mask claims to 'penetrate deep into the layers of the skin to nourish and moisturize' and it really does feel like it as nourished my skin, it is now so soft and it hasn't left my skin tight or shiny!
Reviews on the other items will be coming soon!
Enjoy this amazingly sunny day!

New in Topshop this week...dresses.

I've just had a little browse on Topshop's 'New in this week' page, and I've already found loads of clothes that are just gorgeous!
I found three dresses in particular that I think are absolutely stunning....
Firstly I love tassels, they are so sexy and are obviously full of movement. This one by Rare is only £39 as well, which is pretty good seeing as this could lend itself to any occasion.

Then I spotted this maxi dress, which is a work of art and is again stunning. I love how it is a little different to other maxi dress's, with the lace body. This one is by Love and is £44, which is a steal for such a gorgeous dress, again you could wear it for any occasion; casually with a denim jacket over the top or wearing it for a meal or night out.

Finally I came across this dress by Goldie, at £56 it is the most expensive of the three, however it is a classic  shirt dress, with an amazing studded collar, in a cute pastel blue colour. Such a good juxtaposition between the rocky studs and the cute pastel blue.

I love these three dresses and they're all a little bit different, but all have the same wow factor.

Soap and Glory - Sit tight Intense XS

So off of all the reviews I have seen online for this product, I went into Boots today and purchased it, it was £16.50 for 125ml which I thought was a lot for what you actually got. But then again I haven't tested this product yet, so who knows. I'm hoping it is value for money!
I love the three spheres that massage the peppermint lotion into the skin, so it will hopefully get rid of the dreaded orange peel! With the help of the gym/a good diet of course. So out go the fizzy drinks, which I will try and stick to!
I'll let you know how it goes, and how good this product really is.

Harry Potter Studio Tour

Wow it was amazing!
Craig bought us tickets to go yesterday and it really was one of the best things ever! (minus HP world in Florida, but that's another story) We left at about 10am and with a Satnav, food and pepsi in hand and drove to London, which was the first time I'd ever driven on a motorway with 6 lanes. I admit it was a tad terrifying.
But we got there safe and sound, and entered the wonderful building, with fellow Harry Potter nerds around us we continued our journey to knowing everything about the amazing series.

Here's a few photo's of the best day ever:

Outside the tour

Craig and I

Me and the ice sculpture from Goblet of Fire

Craig and a Dog aha

Me and the Knightbus! (also butterbeer)

Craig and I in the flying car

The most spectacular part of the tour...the model they used for the sweeping shots of Hogwarts...best part ever.

Me in my home....Weasley's house :P

If you are a Harry Potter fan, you have to go to this, it's worth the money and it is a spellbinding day out! :)

First year of uni is over!

Wow, I can't believe how quickly it's gone! It's weird to think I'm no longer a first year and my work next year will actually start contributing to my degree! This means I'm bound to get more stressed, tired and confused come October.
As a treat for handing in my final piece of work, I bought Cosmo, it was only £2 so I thought 'why not?'
Whilst flicking through, I came across an article called 'Cellulite, you are under arrest!' this appealed to me straight away, as I'm trying to lose weight at the moment by going to the gym, and I wish I could find something to help me get rid of the horrible dimples on my legs.
I saw the review for 'Soap and Glory - Sit Tigh intense XS' apparently it's the best thing to buy and where I already go to the gym it should work well.
So I'm going to buy this and see if it really does work, I'm hoping it does, seeing as the other products are a lot more expensive; Veleshape 2 - £75 a session and they recommend 5...
no thanks.

I'll let you know if it works, well if it does I'll be shouting from the rooftops!

Party Dress

Sunday was a special John Lewis party, at the Grande Cafe in Southampton, it was a really great evening, with two free drink vouchers and a free 'John Lewis' cocktail on the way in. There was a sweet stand, with loads of yummy sugar filled treats waiting to be eaten and a raffle with amazing prizes including a Mulberry handbag and purse (which I sadly didn't win!)
The party was for our Southampton branch, as we had won a data capture competition, I do love working for them...seeing as the benefits are amazing.

Anyway I had nothing to wear, so whilst at work on Sunday, I ran around the store trying to find something and I stumbled across a gorgeous lace number by Oasis.
It was fate, a lady bought it out of the fitting room, I looked at the label and it was my size, I tried it on and it fit like a glove!

It was £55, however with the edition of my discount and an extra 20% off brought it down to £33, on my lunch break I bought it and couldn't be happier. It was a perfect length for a 'work do' (didn't want to embarrass myself in front of the big bosses!) Also it shows off the bottom of my tattoo which is even better.

It also had a cute cut out back to it, which made it even more adorable., just high enough to not show my bra off! I love this dress so much, Oasis you have done well. I wore this dress with my pair of New Look simple black heels.

I'll leave you with this very blurry photo of a few of the JL ladies from my department.

So good they named it twice.

I'm going to New York, New York baby!
I'm so excited, uni have organised a trip to the wonderful city in December this year. Once I read the email they sent out, I just knew I had to go! I have always wanted to go to the Big Apple, it's in my 'to do' list and now I am!
It was obviously a lot cheaper than you would pay if you were to buy a ticket there yourself, which is another reason why I couldn't miss this opportunity. We're going for four days, the week before Christmas, it's going to be incredible.
I couldn't help my excitement so I've been 'googling' photos of the city itself.
Has anyone ever been to New York? Have you got any suggestions on places to go and see, and what kind of clothes to wear?
I hear it gets freezing cold in Winter.

My first Glossy Box

I had a lovely surprise this morning when I opened my front door, I was greeted with a small brown box, which I knew could be only one thing; my first ever Glossy Box!
I was so excited, I opened it up straight away, to find it was the April edition, so I'm a little bit behind, but I'm glad I finally got it through!

I love the box, it's so sweet with a little parcel wrapped up inside, with a 'menu' of the products I have in my box.

This month I have received;
Caudale - A thirst quenching serum
Inika - Lip liner
Monu - Hand and nail cream
Figs and Rouge - Lip balm
Philip B - Styling Gel

I thought the lip balm was really cute, I loved the vintage inspired packaging and the balm itself was very soft and creamy. However when I put it on, it was flavoured as 'rose water', and personally I hate the smell and taste of rose water, it reminds me of the macaroons I bought in Paris. Thinking it was strawberry, I ate it and it tasted like I was eating soap.
So unfortunately I took it off 30 minutes later, I did however find a difference in the softness of my lips, as I suffer from dryness and chapping, it would be a great product if I liked the smell/taste!
Back to Carmex I go, unfortunately.

I'll test out the other products in the next few days and let you all know
Hope you've all had good days and lovely evenings.

More focus please

The other day I decided it was about time for me to invest in a remote for my Canon 450D. I've had my Canon for about three years now and it is such a good little camera, I love taking photographs on it. It's been very well traveled from being with me at Busch Gardens in Florida in summer 2010 to a wedding I took photos for last summer.
I have thought about getting one for a while but I wasn't sure about how good they really were but after reading a post on Jen's blog - A little bird told me, I decided they really were worth the money.
So I reserved one to collect from my local Comet store, after 30 mins it was ready to be collected so I rushed down and as I inquired about my order, the sales assistant hands me a TINY box.
I didn't realise how small these devises actually were! This photo may be deceiving as it is actually only about 5cm X 2cm in diameter. It comes with this cute little case that I have attached to the strap of my camera.
I can't wait to use it, as my outfit photos won't be as unfocused anymore, I think this is a must for any blogger as it just makes everything so much easier and quicker! Seeing as when my camera is on self timer mode it can take up to 10 photographs in very quick succession. So quick that it is difficult for me to move positions.
So this is a great little buy and for only £19.99!
I'd best get back to my uni work now, seeing as I have 2000 words to write. Best crack on.
Hope you've had a good day.

Leggings and long line shirt convert

Whilst on a bit of a shopping spree last week, we went into New Look and I spotted this gorgeous shirt from across the floor. I couldn't believe my luck, I've wanted a studded collared shirt for months now since I saw one in Zara in Paris. Unfortunately that one sold out so quickly I didn't even see it on the website the day I got back from Paris!
Ever since I've been on a search for one, from searching through Ebay to checking on Zara's website daily, hoping they would have one in stock. Alas this wasn't the case.

So when I saw this one hanging on a wall someone had just re-merchandised I had to get a closer look.
It is a long line sleeveless shirt, with buttons all the way up. The pleather collar was so cute, with the little studs all over it. I loved it even though it was long, I'm not usually a fan because I would usually tuck it into a high wasted skirt or shorts. But I tried it on with some leggings....10 minutes later I was in the que.

Then I bought some plain black leggings a few days later from Next and now I'm a complete legging and long line shirt convert.

Anyone else not a fan of leggings, before finding something that you can actually wear with them?

Is that a wig?

The amount of time I was asked if I was wearing a wig on Saturday night was insane.

Context: I was invited to a friends 30th birthday, the theme was hero's and villians, I had a day to sort my outfit out, my boyfriend thought of Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim.

I'm not sure if she's a hero or a villain but I went with it because it meant I actually had an outfit!
So this is me as Ramona Flowers, whatcha think?
I kind of like the blue hair...

And here's the real Ramona...

I tried :)

Out of focus

I'm sure you can see the photo below is out of focus, I didn't realise until I had uploaded it. This is why I really need a remote for my canon!

Anyway this is what I wore today; a simple combination, nothing special. A new look top I bought last week, which was £7.99 which was a bargain; as usual. I love sleeveless vests at the moment, they are east to wear and summery; despite the weather being far from it!

I've teamed it with my pride and joy pair of jeans, that funnily enough I hardly ever wear. They are by Reiss; the Ross straight cut jean. I love the dark blue colour and straight cut; they are amazing, I just don't have many shoes that will go with them, so unfortunately I'm stuck to wearing them inside at the moment.

Any idea which shoes I could wear with them?

Busy, busy ever so busy.

I know I've been gone for a while and no blogging has happened, I feel terrible. However I have been bogged down with uni work, going to the gym and generally being busy with life!
Never will I let my blog down by not posting on it for weeks...promise.

Anyway, I've been here and there these last few weeks, buying various items to wedge into my wardrobe. Well I say wardrobe, I actually mean the two bars on my wall which I call my wardrobe.
I have been buying things that are handy though, such as my new uni bag, even though it's basically the end of my first year; where did the time go?!

Bought this beauty from Zara for £19.99! I know I couldn't believe it either.
There was a range of colours including brown and grey, however I thought to go for this black one, as it is easy to wear with everything and I wear black a lot!

It's just a simple bag, however I think it looks great. I love the shape, it has a zip fastening at the top. Which is a must in any bag in my opinion. I personally wouldn't want anyone being able to look through my bag whilst on the train or tube.
I love the green detailing on the handle and pockets inside as well which make it look more expensive than £20!
Has anyone else found a bargain bag recently?
