Autumn Wishlist

I love Autumn, it's my favourite season, the leaves are looking ultra pretty, the jumpers are out and the coffee is flowing. Gone are the days of an ice drink in Starbucks, onto the warm Vanilla Lattes and pastries that will warm up the chilliest of days. This season is all about getting boots and coats that will keep you cosy this winter.
Seeing as I don't have enough money for all these things I thought I would make a wishlist instead!

My autumn wishlist
All the things I need in my wardrobe this autumn

From left to right:
I really need a chunky black cardigan, I don't have one and I would love something that I can just throw on, know I'll look good and be super warm!
Oh god these boots! Boot heaven. Enough said.
This waistcoat is to die for! I tried it on in River Island and restrained from buying it then and there! However I bought Elle magazine the other day and low and behold there is a 25% off voucher for River Island in it! Hello jacket ;)
Fedora £28
Such a cute fedora, I love the gold detailing.
Striped top £22
Can't go wrong with a striped top!
Mmmmm burgundy, with the seasons must have - cord.
I'm actually going to go and buy these today, I really need a pair of nice flats that aren't boots.
I love this scarf, the colours and the fact it is huge, so I could really bundle up in it on cold days.

I have strong feelings towards winter clothes, I just love them. I love being covered in multiple layers and feeling snug, so I just need to get some money together to be able to buy 1,000 jumpers!
What's on your Autumn Wishlist?

Simple Spring Wishlist

As I work in a clothing department I have loved seeing the spring styles coming through the doors, it was a long time coming! I really love winter clothes but there's just something about Spring that really gets my heart pumping.

It could be because it's getting lighter in the mornings and not getting dark till later, and everything just feels refreshed or it could be because I've finally been paid like many people! I have been keeping my wish lists up to date and here is a selection of the items that are firmly in there, I just wish I could buy it all!

Secret Santa Ideas for under £10

It's getting closer to the big day and secret Santa's are filling up offices and other work places up and down the country. Usually secret Santa's have a limit on how much money you can spend, sometimes going up to £20 - depending on how much you ! Me friends and I are doing our own secret Santa, and we have decided on a £10 limit. This has given me the idea of showing you what you can get for £10. Which is actually very surprising - obviously you can't get all of this for a tenner -I wish!

I have picked out loads of different items from many different shops, some items are actually now on sale which makes them a great bargain for secret Santa's and also items that are just under £10 so you get a tiny but of change.

I hope this gives you some ideas if you're getting a bit stuck on what to get that woman in your office that you have said 2 words to in the time you've been there! Or just a little present for yourself!

Coveted Coats

coveted coats featuring, Garard Darel, Warehouse, Topshop, Noisy May and Vila

After leaving my house yesterday I couldn't believe how cold it had got! Bruuuur. So I have found a few coats, that I love love love. Ok I do have a Gerard Darel coat in there which costs £365, which is so far out of my price range it's ridiculous, but we can all dream right?!
As you can tell I have a thing for leather and tweed, they are my two favourite things in a coat - oh and warmth of course!
Is there any coats you are coveting at the moment?

Overcast - Outfit

Whilst on twitter the other day, I was mentioned in a tweet by @fashvouchers saying I had won a £50 boohoo voucher. I was confused, I can't remember entering a competition but never the less, YAY! I went straight on the website and started browsing. I wasn't sure what I wanted so it took me a while to decide. But Today it arrived!

I picked 4 things, making the total £61, including a floral shirt, which needs to be exchanged for another size, a grey swing vest and a grey (lots of grey) shall/throw/thing. But the first thing I decided to try on was this dress...

my cat is trying to get in on the photo

I never want to take it off! It's the Adriana Jersey long sleeve wrap dress, and it cost £15* - amazing value. I can see me getting a lot of wear out of this little number. The top does manage to reveal quite a bit if you're not careful, but I could easily wear a camisole underneath, leaving my modesty intact. I love how it is a sleeved dress but doesn't cover me up too much, making it super feminine, sexy but sophisticated.

there she is again!

I decided to wear it with opaque tights and my brand new winter boots by Topshop. I picked these bad boys up last week when they were offering 20% off for students. They are the Astrix platform lace up boots, which are £42 (£34 with student discount). Seeing as my other Topshop boots have seen better days, I thought I would treat my feet! I try and buy only one new pair of expensive(ish) boots every year, as I love them and try and limit my boot addiction! It's so difficult, especially when the winter sale comes along.
These boots are super comfortable and lightweight even though they look like they would weigh your legs down, but they really don't. I can not recommend these boots enough!

and again!

I picked up this ring last week in Topshop (again, same trip), I haven't bought jewlery from them in a while however I saw this and fell in love a little bit, it was £4.50, it does make my finger go a bit green, but nothing a bit of clear nail varnish can't sort out!

I am also wearing a necklace bought from Urban Outfitters in their last winter sale and my new favourite colour of nail varnish (again from Topshop) called Overcast, however the photo on their website looks completely different from the colour of it in real life.

I hope everyones Monday has been good, if not least it's nearly over! :)

Peel off Nails? - Review

When I saw this nail polish in John Lewis Oxford Street, I knew I had to get it, mainly for the colour. It is gorgeous, just the right kind of blue, it's called 'on the blink' and cost £6. The basic principle of this nail varnish is that you can change your nail varnish as quickly and as often as you change your underwear!

The main reason I bought this was the colour, but I also wanted to know how well it peels off, sounds silly right? Well as I'm working full time I like to paint my nails often, however I also like them to stay on all day. So this nail polish has it's positives and also it's negatives, like most nail polishes.

The positives is that the colour is gorgeous, it dries relatively quickly and is nice and shiny. Another thing that could be considered a positive and/or a negative is that is comes off within hours of wearing it. This nail polish isn't great if you want to wear it all day without it starting to peel off, however it's great if you like to change your nail colour a lot but don't always have nail polish remover left/around.
It would be great on holiday, as I don't know if it's just me but I don't like to take nail varnish remover as it may leak in my luggage. So this would be brilliant, as you could paint your nails on the plane, but take it off again later if you wanted to use a different colour.
I found that 20 minutes into starting work it had already started to come away from my nail, which was very annoying as I didn't have the polish with me! (Rookie error)
I wouldn't recommend this nail polish if you like having the same nail colour for a few days, but other wise the colour is gorgeous and it is really easy to apply. So definitely go for it, the colours are amazing! I wish they did the colours in their usual range of Topshop nails (please Topshop, please!)

Has anyone else tried this range from Topshop, what did you think?

Summer Breeze - Outfit

I had a day off, so I thought I would enjoy this sunny bank holiday, unfortunately I don't have many summer clothes. I went instead with a simple white tee (Neppy Tee - Topshop), my Jamie jeans (Topshop - £46), a Primark tweed blazer (£14) and my cute black wedge/flatform sandals.

I went into town to get my hair cut at Rush in Southampton, a hairdressers I really recommend! They added a treatment to my hair, which has made it super soft and it feels so light, along with taking some length off. I really love it.

I took these photos outside in my garden because it was such a lovely day.
The necklace I'm wearing is an old purchase from Topshop, one of my favourite.

The wedges were £19.99 in New Look, and I love them, they are so cute and go with a lot of outfits. I have painted my nails with a Topshop 'Peel off nails' range, in On The Blink. Review coming by the end of the week.
Hope you all enjoyed your bank holiday weekend!

The forest of talking trees, they used to sing about the birds and the bees

I finally gave in and bought a black fedora, yay! I've wanted one for ages, since I saw Of Monsters and Men at Reading festival! (hence the title of the post) The lead girl singer Nanna, was wearing one whilst playing their set, and I just fell in love with the look.
However I couldn't find one anywhere, until I had a look on Topshop's website in early March to find one! It made my March Topshop wish list, and I finally bought it on Wednesday!
I held off buying it for a while because of the price, it's £25 which I think is a bit expensive for a hat, however I couldn't find one anywhere else that was cheaper, so after my boyfriend saying to me 'buy it, buy it' I did and I love it!

Black Fedora - Topshop - £25
Wine Coloured Jumper - New Look -£14.99
Black skater skirt - Primark - £6
City Office Bag - Zara - £49.99
Boots - Topshop - £75 similar here

I decided to wear it today, with a simple outfit, of a wine coloured jumper I bought from New Look a little while ago, I still love it, as it is great to wear with jeans or tucked into a skirt. It is also keeping me warm in current weather situation! I do love dressing for winter/cold weather, as you can probably tell by now, but I do want to change my tights for a lighter denier and even wear some of my maxi skirts, that would be lovely. But I think I would freeze at the moment!

The skirt I love, it is my little bargain from Primark, it was £6 which is a perfect price for a simple black skater skirt which goes with everything in my wardrobe! As well as this it hides my 'un-gymed' body, I haven't been in a few months now, I really need to start going again!

I am also wearing my new necklace from Urban Outfitters, which I bought in the sale for £6.40 (20% student discount), it was previously £18, and I personally wouldn't spend £18 on it so glad I got it for a lot cheaper! I love it, it goes with so much in my wardrobe, I'm really loving the 'dirty gold' tone of jewellery at the moment.

I'm also showing off my brand new bag from Zara! I love this bag, but I feel terrible at the same time, because of the recent news about Zara's factories and the alleged slave labour, that has been circling the news the last few days.
It's a very grey area at the moment, but I still love the bag, because it's exactly what I need seeing as I have to fit my laptop in there as well as all my usual handbag things. (Que people shouting at me for liking this bag, it doesn't mean I agree with the companies way of doing things!)

Hope you're all having good Friday's? So close to the weekend!

Spring Inspired Bridesmaid Outfit Competition entry

Louise Tie Low V-back dress - £25 - Boohoo.com
Tube Dangle Stone Earrings - £15 - Topshop
Gold Polka Dot Metal Trim Clutch - £12.99 - New Look
Jaxine 2 Court Shoe Nude Patent Leather - £100 - Ted Baker via Office
Total: £152.99

After the lovely ladies from Fearlessbrides got in touch with me to create my own bridesmaid outfit I jumped at the chance! I love putting these sort of 'wish lists' together, as it gives me a chance to window shop for a while, without feeling guilty! As well as asking me to create this outfit they also mentioned I would be in with the chance of winning a £50 voucher from ASOS.

I started thinking about what I would chose, and seeing as I'm 21, I've never been a bridesmaid and not thinking about getting married anytime soon I found it difficult at first, but then inspiration struck and the 5 year old girl with a pillow case on her head came back into memory. (I can't be the only one that did that right?) The first thing I thought about is what kind of colours would I like to see if I had a spring wedding (as this is one of the guidelines), obviously bright colours are the first thing that comes to mind. This Boohoo dress fits in perfectly, with the V back which gives it a bit of sexiness but not too much so it doesn't become too risqué for a bridesmaid. I love the bow detail on the back as well as the high neckline at the front which gives it a vintage feel.
It also is an amazing price at only £25, which is great if you're on a tight budget, this dress also comes in bright pink and white, which could also be used for bridesmaids if you wanted a larger selection of colour.
The dress started my colour scheme, I decided on gold, pink and turquoise. I decided on a gold clutch bag with gold chain as it would work well against the turquoise, and it could be worn on the shoulder whilst carrying the small bouquets.
The shoes are by far the most expensive thing about this outfit, they are from Ted Baker, in a gorgeous nude/gold tone. I think they will work perfectly with this dress as they won't distract away from the dress. With the simple gold bottoms you would see a flash of gold every time the bridesmaids took a step down the isle.
I decided to add some earrings into the ensemble, from Topshop, as I think this outfit would need a bit of 'bling' (hate that word but couldn't think of anything else). They contain a beautiful turquoise strands as well as tiny hints of pink and gold.
I of course added in a bouquet of roses in pale pink and cream, which would look absolutely gorgeous against the turquoise dress.

Fearlessbrides contains everything wedding related - from wedding fashion to photography for your big day. They have created this competition with the chance of winning a £50 voucher for ASOS.com. All you have to do is create a bridesmaid outfit for under £200, and you have until 2nd May at noon to enter!

Wish lists: My Money Supermarket Entry - Passion for Fashion2

Hi everyone, this is my entry into the Moneysupermarket.com competition, which is to create three different outfits that cost under £200 each, under the categories; Causal, party and holiday. With a chance of winning one of your outfits, then maybe even winning £1000 to buy your perfect wardrobe! You can enter to by going to their website and creating a blog post, the competition closes on the 8th April.

My first outfit:

Topshop - Diamond cut out necklace - £10
Topshop - Strappy Soft Cami - £18
River Island - White laser cut ballet pumps - £22
River Island - White Colour Block bag - £40
Zara - Pique Floral Blazer -£69.99

Whole outfit cost:
£199.99

I chose the high waisted jeans, because they are a good staple in anyones wardrobe, the wash is great for spring (well the cold spring we're having). The darker wash is also great because it slims my thighs down a bit! I went for the bright blazer because I love it against the dark jeans. The florals are a big trend this spring and will probably be around for quite a while. The light blue cami underneath just adds a more subtle tone to the whole ensemble. I teamed it with white pumps a gold necklace and a white colour block bag. The yellow on the sides of the bag, mix well with the yellow on the blazer and gives it a fun feel. Also 1p less than the £200 budget, that's pretty good right?

My second outfit:

New Look - Vera Moda Louise cut out bag - £29.99
New Look - View Buckled Low Wedge Sandals - £19.99
Mango - Slits Sheer Maxi Skirt - £34.99
Urban Outfitters - Wide Brim Floppy hat - £20
Urban Outfitters - Octagon half frame sunglasses - £16

Whole outfit cost:
£152.97

This is my holiday outfit. It comes in under budget at £152.97, so with the extra cash I would spend it on holiday essentials, such as: sun lotion, travel shampoo's, body lotions, after sun lotion etc.
I love this outfit, I chose the one piece swimsuit, it's super stylish and very sliming, and you don't have to worry about weird tan lines. I picked out the blue in the swim suit, for the maxi skirt. I love wearing maxi skirts on holiday, they're so easy to wear and keep your legs cool, but warm enough in the evening. I love the colour of this one from Mango, it's a bit expensive at £34.99 but you could wear it with a lot of things.
I had to chose a hat, you can't go on holiday without some sort of hat, as well as sunnies! I love the hexagon shape of these, so different from the usual round or oval shaped ones.

My third outfit:

Topshop - Leather Look T-shirt -£45
Topshop - Block print skinny trousers - £42
Asos - Triangle Collar Necklace - £15
River Island - White Clean Gusset Clutch Bag - £25
Office - Ozone Black Leather Shoes - £68

Whole outfit cost:
£199.99

This is my party outfit, I would chose this if I was going out with the girls, maybe going for a meal then out to a few bars. I went for a monochrome theme, then adding a splash of colour from the clutch bag, I would have also used the same colour nail varnish as a base coat, under the confetti top coat, however I came up to the budget for the task.
I love this outfit, as I think you could wear it casually as well - a pair of flats and a bigger bag would help this look be more casual. I went for the pleather T-shirt, as the trousers are patterned, this means it is easy to wear, but the pleather creates a smarter look also adding texture- which is reflected in the nail varnish. I decided on the triangle pattern necklace as it reflects the pattern on the trousers well but is not too 'clashy' the white also means it doesn't add too many colours to this simple outfit.

What do you think?

Outfit Post #4

I'm not sure how many of you know, but I'm not the biggest fan of H & M; well I haven't been in a while. However whilst I was in town with Granny Gee yesterday, she dragged me in there, and low and behold, I found something, that I actually liked!
Well two things, first off I found a grey maxi skirt, and then I came across this simply cute maxi dress. There was a choice of two colours, dark grey and this forest green, I went with the green because it can go with a lot of things, and green is a colour I love to wear.
I tried it on and it fits nicely, a slight problem with the size of the arm holes (you know which part I mean, the bit under your armpit). They are a bit large, and you can see my bra, which is why I've worn this dress with a blazer.

I couldn't believe my luck, I never find anything in H & M, and I managed to find two things on a whim!  I am really chuffed with it, I love the slit up the side, which gives it a sexy edge and also makes me look tall!

Like I said, I wore the maxi dress with my trusty light grey blazer, from Topshop (old). I love the grey with the forest green, it blends really nicely. I decided to add some gold, just to create a bit of warmth within the cool tones. I chose some bracelets, I bought from Primark (£3 a pack) a while ago, then I added another Primark favourite, my gold chain necklace, which I have had for donkey's years!

I think it brings the outfit together really nicely. I also wore my Topshop boots (similar here), they have lasted so long now and they are still going strong, very comfortable and versatile. They work really nicely with the dress as it gives me a bit more height. Which is very much needed!
I am so happy with this dress, I can imagine it becoming a staple in my wardrobe, and I was close to never finding it - Lesson learnt, go in shops you don't usually go into, just to have a look around, you never know what you might come across!
Have you found any bargains in shops you don't usually shop in lately?

Outfit Post #3

Another long time since my last outfit post, but i thought I'd introduce you all to my new bowler hat! My sister bought it from Topshop, but she decided she didn't want it. Lucky me, seeing as I've been trying to find one for ages that does cost £20+. So it was free!

Today I wore my alphabet shirt, from Primark £12, which I love, as the baggy fit looks nice tucked into my skirt, which is also from Primark for a measly £6. I threw my really old grey Topshop blazer on top as it was chilly today, and then also wore my River Island coat! I wore some New Look tights, and River Island boots, with silver studs (£65). Then I was ready to roll.
I went into uni for a few hours for a visual merchandising lecture/seminar and back home to do uni work all evening!
I've decided I want some dotty tights, I think they're really cute. Has anyone seen any cheap ones in Primark or anywhere?

Outfit post #2 - ABC as easy as 1, 2, 3...

Happy Monday everyone! Hope it wasn't too much of a pain getting out of bed this morning and going about your daily life, but hey it's now Monday evening so well done, you've done it! Monday is basically over for another week.
I thought I would show you what I wore to Uni today, I saw this shirt on Lily's blog, and just had to have it! It's so different from anything I've seen before and I love the slouchy fit, the other thing about this shirt is it was only £12 in Primark! I don't often shop in there because I feel that things are just going to fall apart, but I'm trying to limit my spending at the moment, so Primark is now going to be my go-to shop I think.

I wore this shirt with a white camisole underneath which I bought from New Look for £3.99, which is always handy to have, especially with sheer shirts like this one. I don't often wear loads of white, however I think it freshens up my look and I can wear it with so many different colours if I want to.
I wore this shirt with my burgundy Jamie jeans from Topshop and my River Island boots, which feature in my first vlog, if you haven't seen it, watch it here.

I also wore my grey Topshop blazer with the ensemble, as it is still chilly outside, and it gives me that little added warmth, along with my coat of course. I really like the blazer with the outfit, as it makes it look more formal and sophisticated. As it is a light grey it still keeps this outfit light and fresh but blends in with the burgundy jeans nicely.

I decided to wear a necklace over the shirt but under the collar, I think it looks pretty effective, it's from Primark a very long time ago, and has tarnished a lot but it still looks nice - from a distance. I also wore my trusty watch (Michael Kors) as I now wear it near enough every day, my wrist feels naked without it! I didn't wear any other jewelry today as I basically couldn't be asked. It is Monday after all - can you blame me?

Then I got bored and made this face....

I hope you've all had a good start to the week, if not things can only get better! :)

Lazy Sunday

I've had such a lazy day, not being able to sleep until gone 3AM and then not getting out of bed till around 12PM. Woops, but that's what Sunday's are for right?
I did however make some sort of effort with my outfit today. I went for my skater skirt from Topshop, which I bought in the summer sale, for about £15 (I think). I wore this with a pair of thick-ish tights, my River Island boots, which my boyfriend bought me for my birthday.

I also decided to wear my new top from 'Not of this Earth' from Topshop. It is such a gorgeous top, with a great mirrored pattern and bat wing three quarter length sleeves. Just up my street.

This is my second sale bargain this year, I've wanted this top for...well since it came out around 3 or 4 months ago, but I didn't want to spend £25, hoping it would go into sale I kept looking on their website but to no avail. After popping in the Topshop in Southampton one afternoon, I came across it whilst sifting through the rails! I was so excited, even more so when I found the price was £12! It was only in a medium, but because it's a baggy fit it didn't really matter. It's just baggier than it should be.
I was even more delighted when I realised I could get my student discount on top of sale prices, so it took it down to £10.80!
Happy Megan.

Has anyone bought any amazing sale bargains or anything that you've wanted for ages and finally have it in your hands?

I'm in Wonderland again

So after claiming to find the best combination for this Models Own nail polish the other day in my post 'match made in wonderland', I went and found another amazing match!
I went from dark navy which is a more evening sparkle look, to Topshop nail varnish in 'Parma Violet' instead, and oh my life it is gorgeous. It creates a completely different look, more of a daytime sparkle. The lilac underneath looks so cute against the subtle glitter.

I love Topshop nail polishes, they come in so many different colours and shades, and it is surprisingly hard wearing, which you usually don't expect from a clothing brands make up ranges.
This models own wonderland southern lights is now officially my favourite nail polish. What do you think is the better look? (other post here)

I will definitely be trying it out with many different colours underneath. Have you got any suggestions on which colours?

My £9 dress!

This Saturday my family and I traveled all the way up to Manchester, which was a long 6 hour drive from my home in Southampton. But it was worth it as I got to see my Auntie get married, it was a lovely day and I was so happy to see my Auntie ecstatically happy as well. Her husband's family were lovely and free wine was a plenty.
We all got dolled up and my boyfriend wore his one and only suit, the same one he wore for my parents vowel renew earlier this year. But it didn't matter because he looked smart and handsome. (Even if his shirt was un-tucked!)

This is Craig and I outside the church, this is a horrible photograph of me however this is the only one I have of my outfit! So it will have to do.
I wore an amazing sale find, which was bought last week in Topshop for a measly £9! I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked to my right to see it hanging on the sale rail, it was gorgeous, then to see the price was even better.
I tried it on and it felt and looked great, except the slight issue with my tummy..basically I had to buy some 'suck me in' tights. It traveled so well, as the fabric doesn't crease, which is the best thing when you're travelling for so long. I decided to wear this dress with this blue blazer I bought in Zara about two or three years ago now (roughly £40). So it's pretty old, but it's comfortable and such an amazing colour.
I also wore some plain black court shoes from New Look, which you can not see in this photograph, they were uncomfortable for the simple reason and they were too big when worn with very thin tights.
All in all we all had a brilliant day and way too much wine, but that's what weddings are for right?

Cat Tee

I saw this in Topshop on Thursday and ran straight over to it, to get a closer look. I had to try it on, I've wanted a t-shirt with a cat on it for a while, not sure why but they are great. Topshop also had 20% off the other day for students, where I got this top for only £12.60!

I wore it yesterday, with a pair of thick HM leggings, and my vans (standard combination for me).
It looks great, and the cats eyes are a beautiful green, which would look great with a pair of dark green jeans. If I can find a pair that actually fit me!

Any suggestions on some dark green high waisted jeans available in petite would be welcomed!
