Just another week #1 - text/photo heavy

Hi guys, I'm sorry I've been a bit absent in the last week, I've just fallen out of my blogging habit, but I'll be back! :) This week has been really quite busy as well, first off I went out for one of my best friends 21st birthday, we went out to Southampton town, which was weird, as we never really go anymore - but I wish we did. But none the less it was really fun and needless to say we got rather 'merry' and had to get a subway on the way home! 

Before going out however we went for a curry which was really nice. At the end of the meal the waiters bought over the birthday cake I had made for the birthday girl. I am so proud of it, I decided to ice it in black icing and make a sugar skull out of icing and then decorate it. I also covered it in glitter, as it was a birthday cake after all!

I didn't go for a standard bright birthday cake as Jemma's favourite things are the colour black and skulls, so I think it worked pretty well..if I say so myself. 

I really loved my outfit that evening, as I had recently bought a new top from Miss Selfridge, which I was surprised with as I usually can't find anything in there. However I went in and found a body with a high laced neckline and a sort of sweetheart part of the neckline too (if that makes sense). 

It's difficult to explain so here is the best photo I have of my outfit...

Birthday girl in the middle. 

The body was £26, which was quite expensive, but with 10% off student discount it made it a tiny bit better for my bank balance, and I know I can wear it a lot (I'm still trying to justify it). I wore this body with a high waisted skater skirt I bought from Primark for £6! It is perfect, with a slight dipped hem at the back, which means when you put it on it sits nicely on your bum, without being shorter than expected! 

It is really thin which is nice as it means it hangs nicely. 

The next day I went home to find that my Kings of Leon tickets had arrived! Amazing, it is a while away however it's always exciting when the tickets come through (sorry for the terrible photo, I had to quickly upload it to Facebook to show my friend!)

Then Valentines day arrived, I woke up got myself ready and left my house to go to uni at 3pm, after uni I went to Asda and bought some fruit, chocolate and some mini donuts for mine and Craig's evening - of a chocolate fondue - Yum! 

When I got home I went into my garden and noticed a massive box outside my door, from Interflora!

I checked to see the name on the box and it was definitely for me, so when I got in I opened it up to find a bunch of red roses! 

It was so cute, the roses looked stunning! I then found the note that Craig had written, it was my favourite lyrics from a song by Dry the River. 

What a cutey :)

After a quick Facetime with Craig to thank him for the flowers I got ready for our evening out at Bella Italia (our favourite restaurant). It was lovely, unfortunately I don't have a photo of the outfit I wore. It wasn't anything new but I really liked it, minus my really uncomfortable heels! Which have now given me a blister! Worst thing about heels; they may look good but they don't half hurt sometimes!

The final surprise when we got back home was my Valentines card, which Craig bought from the internet - his favourite illustrator - Chris (Simpsons artist) . I should have known! 

So that was it for my week really, I didn't do very much Friday night and today I've been at work, which was ok as I was able to leave at 3.30!

Lingerie sets

I'm a huge fan of lingerie, I think it's the ultimate sexy item of clothing girls wear. Who doesn't? But I've never ever owned a maching set and seeing as I went into town a few days ago, to purchase some bits and pieces. I thought I might check out Topshop's underwear section, so I walked straight in and looked at all the gorgeous sets, wondering why I had never bought one. I couldn't think of any reasons. 

So I had a look and one set stuck out, it was a perfectly shaped balcony bralet, in gorgeous black lace with a white background, making it look grey, they of course had a matching pair of pants; seeing as it was a set. 

The pants were actually pants, it was great. Am I the only person who doesn't like wearing a thong? Sexy I know... 

So after trying it on and finding that it fitted like a dream, which was a surprise because I've never been able to find a bra in Topshop that fits perfectly! 

Anyway it was pretty expensive, the bralet being £25 and the pants being £8 but seeing as I haven't bought anything for myself in ages, I wanted to treat myself. It was totally worth it, I can wear the bra a few times a week, seeing as my wardrobe is mainly dark colours so will go under a lot of my tops/shirts. All I need is a few more pairs of the pants and I'll be set. (bad pun I know)

So here it is, the most gorgeous set of underwear I've ever set eyes on...

I think I'm going to start buying sets way more often, even though they are more expensive they make you feel amazing when you wear them!

Can you see it?

This is one of my soon to be outfits for Reading Festival, which I will be leaving for in a few hours time..eeeek! 

 I decided I wanted a camouflage jacket in general a few weeks ago, I tried to find a cheap one in every charity shop I could think off and all the auction and free ad sites, but to no avail. After posting on Facebook that I really wanted one, a guy I knew from school commented and said, he had just found one at the back of his wardrobe, which I was welcome to have for a fiver!

Seriously five English pounds! When at the moment in shops such as Topshop they are going for up to £75! It is a bit big on me but with the sleeves rolled up and it not done up it doesn't look too big.

I decided it would look great with my Levi shorts, which were also really cheap off of eBay, about £25 if I remember correctly. I also thought what the heck lets go for a crop top, I had bought this in New Look a while ago, for £9.99. It is black lace which is really pretty, I think works really nicely against the masculine camouflage and the Doc Marten boots. Talking of these boots, I can't believe how cheap they were...even now a few weeks on!

I've only really planned this outfit for Reading as I have just bundled a load of T shirts, tops and my trusty Levi shorts, which go with everything, so I'm sure I won't be spending too much time choosing outfits, especially when they're bands to see!

So off I go to Reading festival! It's come around so quickly I can't quite believe it, can't wait to go to my first ever festival, with a bunch of friends (minus my boyfriend, because he didn't fancy going to a festival so massive, which is understandable).

New in Topshop this week...dresses.

I've just had a little browse on Topshop's 'New in this week' page, and I've already found loads of clothes that are just gorgeous! 

I found three dresses in particular that I think are absolutely stunning....

Firstly I love tassels, they are so sexy and are obviously full of movement. This one by Rare is only £39 as well, which is pretty good seeing as this could lend itself to any occasion.

Then I spotted this maxi dress, which is a work of art and is again stunning. I love how it is a little different to other maxi dress's, with the lace body. This one is by Love and is £44, which is a steal for such a gorgeous dress, again you could wear it for any occasion; casually with a denim jacket over the top or wearing it for a meal or night out. 

Finally I came across this dress by Goldie, at £56 it is the most expensive of the three, however it is a classic  shirt dress, with an amazing studded collar, in a cute pastel blue colour. Such a good juxtaposition between the rocky studs and the cute pastel blue.

I love these three dresses and they're all a little bit different, but all have the same wow factor.
