Happy New Year!

Hi everyone I hope you all had a wonderful NYE and weren't all horribly hungover yesterday, unlike me. It was terrible, never felt worse in my life. But that's OK, I was at a party with all my best friends and my boyfriend and we were playing 'ring of fire' by 9pm, so it was bound to be a drunken night! Here's a few photos, they're not all my own by the way, some were taken by my friends.

So drunk by this point, so excuse my face.
This is a bit of a late message but I hope you all have a great year 2013 and all of your dreams come true. However lame that sounds. I am so excited about this year, I've decided to set my life in order and actually get stuff done instead of being complacent and lazy. I will however not be going on holiday this year because I have decided to start up a savings account, so when I get my student loan in I'm going straight to the bank to set up a savings account. It's for the best, seeing as I've only got a year of uni left and I want to be able to leave Uni and not have to panic about money troubles.
I have also decided to start having more fun, I've become so lazy and worrisome about everything so I want to become me again this year, I seem to have lost myself somewhere and I want me back! Hopefully I'm not hiding anywhere too difficult to find.
On the blogging front my little blog has nearly reached it's first birthday (4th January), so I want to carry on blogging and expanding my reading base, by reading more and more blogs. I also want to make my blog more successful this is probably where blogging more often comes into the equation.
I'm really grateful for all you who follow me or read my blog, I can't believe I have managed to get 44 followers. When I got to 10 followers I was amazed people I didn't know, even wanted to read my blog. So thank you all very much.
Have a wonderful year, and has anyone got any New Years Resolutions or do you not believe in them?

Oh John Lewis you do Christmas so well

It was my work's Christmas do last night and it was such a great evening, it was held at the Grande Cafe in Southampton and it's such a nice venue. We had it in the same place last year and this year did not let us down on quality and fun. When we arrived we were given two free drink vouchers each, which were well used ;) and we were entered into a raffle to win one of 8 prizes including a holiday to Corfu! Which unfortunately I didn't win. But you never know maybe next year I might be lucky enough!
Whilst there we were offered a food buffet of Thai green curry and other bits which I didn't have as I had already eaten, but I did manage to fit in a bit of cheesecake, which was delicious.
My friend and colleague Becky and I also got to sit on Santa's lap! We had our photo taken and then received a bag of sweeties!

As I work on the fashion department at John Lewis, you can bet your whole months wages on everyone wearing at least one thing from the department. I was no exception, I bought this beautiful dress from Warehouse, it was originally £75 but with the price match and my discount I bought it for £42!
Unfortunately this is the best photo I have of my dress, but I will definitely be wearing it again, because I love it!
Back to the party...there was also a photo booth, which was so much fun, Here are the photos from it.

Love love props...

I'm seriously thinking of getting glasses like these...

It was such a great evening, as there was also a club downstairs so we literally danced the night away
until we could stand no longer in our heels! Can't wait for other parties they will hold next year, they just get better and better.

Has anyone else had their work Christmas do yet?

Party Dress

Sunday was a special John Lewis party, at the Grande Cafe in Southampton, it was a really great evening, with two free drink vouchers and a free 'John Lewis' cocktail on the way in. There was a sweet stand, with loads of yummy sugar filled treats waiting to be eaten and a raffle with amazing prizes including a Mulberry handbag and purse (which I sadly didn't win!)
The party was for our Southampton branch, as we had won a data capture competition, I do love working for them...seeing as the benefits are amazing.

Anyway I had nothing to wear, so whilst at work on Sunday, I ran around the store trying to find something and I stumbled across a gorgeous lace number by Oasis.
It was fate, a lady bought it out of the fitting room, I looked at the label and it was my size, I tried it on and it fit like a glove!

It was £55, however with the edition of my discount and an extra 20% off brought it down to £33, on my lunch break I bought it and couldn't be happier. It was a perfect length for a 'work do' (didn't want to embarrass myself in front of the big bosses!) Also it shows off the bottom of my tattoo which is even better.

It also had a cute cut out back to it, which made it even more adorable., just high enough to not show my bra off! I love this dress so much, Oasis you have done well. I wore this dress with my pair of New Look simple black heels.

I'll leave you with this very blurry photo of a few of the JL ladies from my department.
