As I work in a clothing department I have loved seeing the spring styles coming through the doors, it was a long time coming! I really love winter clothes but there's just something about Spring that really gets my heart pumping. 

It could be because it's getting lighter in the mornings and not getting dark till later, and everything just feels refreshed or it could be because I've finally been paid like many people! I have been keeping my wish lists up to date and here is a selection of the items that are firmly in there, I just wish I could buy it all!

Secret Santa Ideas for under £10

It's getting closer to the big day and secret Santa's are filling up offices and other work places up and down the country. Usually secret Santa's have a limit on how much money you can spend, sometimes going up to £20 - depending on how much you ! Me friends and I are doing our own secret Santa, and we have decided on a £10 limit. This has given me the idea of showing you what you can get for £10. Which is actually very surprising - obviously you can't get all of this for a tenner -I wish!

I have picked out loads of different items from many different shops, some items are actually now on sale which makes them a great bargain for secret Santa's and also items that are just under £10 so you get a tiny but of change.

I hope this gives you some ideas if you're getting a bit stuck on what to get that woman in your office that you have said 2 words to in the time you've been there! Or just a little present for yourself!

In all seriousness I love this outfit because I love wearing black clothes *COUGH GOFF COUGH*

This is what I wore when we went for Ice Cream the other day, fitting I know. It was so hot and I'm running low on summer clothes, this seemed the best thing to go with. 

I'm wearing a black maxi skirt, from New Look. It is so thin, which is good in hot weather because it flows when you walk, creating a (sort of) breeze. It also has pockets! Who doesn't love a skirt with pockets?

I paired it with a black stroppy top also from New Look £5.99. I love this camisole because it looks very basic from the front but it has a 'V' back. I have no idea which shop the skull necklace came from as it was my sisters but I'm sure you can find a version on eBay.

My trusty sunglasses are out again - Urban Outfitters. I absolutely adore this shape, it's unique and the size is perfect for my face, any smaller and it highlights my cubby cheeks!

Fave shoes of the moment, my Topshop Beetle Boots - now I know they aren't the best material, I wish they were made from leather as the inside heel has scuffed on both shoes. However they still look awesome and I just forget about the inside of them.

Outfit - Daisy Print

Earlier this week I went into the newly refurbished Primark in Southampton, usually I can not find anything in there, but since they've made it actually nice to shop in, I found quite a few things! 

In with the bits I bought, was this shirt, which I adore, the cute daisy print is perfect and black is my thing. I love the monochrome look, I think it's really chic and it's just so easy to wear. 

The shirt was a mere £12, which is amazing for how it looks and it fits really nicely. 

I picked up a few more bits and then headed for New Look, as I found they do a really good dupe disco pant. As soon as I tried them on I fell in love. They are gorgeous. They look very similar to the original disco pants, without the pockets and they are quite thin. However they aren't so thin that pants are on show (pet hate when it comes to leggings!) and they fit gorgeously. I have turned up the ankles as they are quite long, but I am only 5' 2''.

These great dupes are only £22.99, and I only paid £20.69 (student discount is going to be missed when I finish uni!)

Summer Breeze - Outfit

I had a day off, so I thought I would enjoy this sunny bank holiday, unfortunately I don't have many summer clothes. I went instead with a simple white tee (Neppy Tee - Topshop), my Jamie jeans (Topshop - £46), a Primark tweed blazer (£14) and my cute black wedge/flatform sandals. 

I went into town to get my hair cut at Rush in Southampton, a hairdressers I really recommend! They added a treatment to my hair, which has made it super soft and it feels so light, along with taking some length off. I really love it. 

I took these photos outside in my garden because it was such a lovely day. 

The necklace I'm wearing is an old purchase from Topshop, one of my favourite. 

The wedges were £19.99 in New Look, and I love them, they are so cute and go with a lot of outfits. I have painted my nails with a Topshop 'Peel off nails' range, in On The Blink. Review coming by the end of the week.

The forest of talking trees, they used to sing about the birds and the bees

I finally gave in and bought a black fedora, yay! I've wanted one for ages, since I saw Of Monsters and Men at Reading festival! (hence the title of the post) The lead girl singer Nanna, was wearing one whilst playing their set, and I just fell in love with the look. 

However I couldn't find one anywhere, until I had a look on Topshop's website in early March to find one! It made my March Topshop wish list, and I finally bought it on Wednesday! 

I held off buying it for a while because of the price, it's £25 which I think is a bit expensive for a hat, however I couldn't find one anywhere else that was cheaper, so after my boyfriend saying to me 'buy it, buy it' I did and I love it!

I decided to wear it today, with a simple outfit, of a wine coloured jumper I bought from New Look a little while ago, I still love it, as it is great to wear with jeans or tucked into a skirt. It is also keeping me warm in current weather situation! I do love dressing for winter/cold weather, as you can probably tell by now, but I do want to change my tights for a lighter denier and even wear some of my maxi skirts, that would be lovely. But I think I would freeze at the moment! 

The skirt I love, it is my little bargain from Primark, it was £6 which is a perfect price for a simple black skater skirt which goes with everything in my wardrobe! As well as this it hides my 'un-gymed' body, I haven't been in a few months now, I really need to start going again! 

I am also wearing my new necklace from Urban Outfitters, which I bought in the sale for £6.40 (20% student discount), it was previously £18, and I personally wouldn't spend £18 on it so glad I got it for a lot cheaper! I love it, it goes with so much in my wardrobe, I'm really loving the 'dirty gold' tone of jewellery at the moment. 

I'm also showing off my brand new bag from Zara! I love this bag, but I feel terrible at the same time, because of the recent news about Zara's factories and the alleged slave labour, that has been circling the news the last few days. 

It's a very grey area at the moment, but I still love the bag, because it's exactly what I need seeing as I have to fit my laptop in there as well as all my usual handbag things. (Que people shouting at me for liking this bag, it doesn't mean I agree with the companies way of doing things!)

I chose the high waisted jeans, because they are a good staple in anyones wardrobe, the wash is great for spring (well the cold spring we're having). The darker wash is also great because it slims my thighs down a bit! I went for the bright blazer because I love it against the dark jeans. The florals are a big trend this spring and will probably be around for quite a while. The light blue cami underneath just adds a more subtle tone to the whole ensemble. I teamed it with white pumps a gold necklace and a white colour block bag. The yellow on the sides of the bag, mix well with the yellow on the blazer and gives it a fun feel. Also 1p less than the £200 budget, that's pretty good right?

This is my holiday outfit. It comes in under budget at £152.97, so with the extra cash I would spend it on holiday essentials, such as: sun lotion, travel shampoo's, body lotions, after sun lotion etc. 

I love this outfit, I chose the one piece swimsuit, it's super stylish and very sliming, and you don't have to worry about weird tan lines. I picked out the blue in the swim suit, for the maxi skirt. I love wearing maxi skirts on holiday, they're so easy to wear and keep your legs cool, but warm enough in the evening. I love the colour of this one from Mango, it's a bit expensive at £34.99 but you could wear it with a lot of things. 

I had to chose a hat, you can't go on holiday without some sort of hat, as well as sunnies! I love the hexagon shape of these, so different from the usual round or oval shaped ones.

This is my party outfit, I would chose this if I was going out with the girls, maybe going for a meal then out to a few bars. I went for a monochrome theme, then adding a splash of colour from the clutch bag, I would have also used the same colour nail varnish as a base coat, under the confetti top coat, however I came up to the budget for the task. 

I love this outfit, as I think you could wear it casually as well - a pair of flats and a bigger bag would help this look be more casual. I went for the pleather T-shirt, as the trousers are patterned, this means it is easy to wear, but the pleather creates a smarter look also adding texture- which is reflected in the nail varnish. I decided on the triangle pattern necklace as it reflects the pattern on the trousers well but is not too 'clashy' the white also means it doesn't add too many colours to this simple outfit.

Just another week #7

Happy Easter everyone! 

Hope you're all having great weekends filled with chocolate and food! As you can see I've been filling my Easter with chocolate and cold and flu medicine, along with tissues. Least I've got the chocolate to make me feel better and less sorry for myself. 

I also popped round my aunties house for a few hours, with my parents, it was nice to see everyone (minus my cousin Gabbie) and we chatted and gave them their long long overdue Christmas presents. I know; can it really be classed as a Christmas present if you give them in March? It was still lovely to see them though and they gave me some great tips on where to go on my upcoming London trip with my boyfriend. 

So onto what's been going on this week, I've decided to put my photos into a different format, as it's easier that way!

1. My new top and necklace from Urban Outfitters sale; the top I adore, it was only £14! It's a tad too big but it's better than it being way too small. The necklace was £8 down from £18. I wouldn't have paid full price for this necklace, as it is very light and doesn't feel like it's worth £18 but I still really like it and it fits in well with my other jewellery. 

2. Zara bag...wonder whats in there (post coming next week)

3. My boyfriend writing one of his last essays for uni - then we went out to Nando's for lunch and then had a nice evening in watching Game of Thrones (recently got into it, only on the first series) 

4. Anti gay marriage leaflet that came through my door (was not happy about this, as I have many gay friends who I think should have the same rights as everyone else) 

5. Slug and lettuce menu - with my boyfriend and the parents in Gunwharf Quays. 

6. Gunwharf Quays dock - Had a lovely day in Gunwharf, mooching around the shops and finding the Cadbury shop and going a bit crazy.

7. Patisserie Valerie chocolate gateaux. I feel terrible saying it, but I really didn't enjoy this cake. I'm sure other cakes are lovely, but this chocolate one really didn't do it for me. I really wanted the cheesecake however they had just sold the last one - seconds before we got there! I'll have to go back and try it, hopefully it will be nicer than the gateaux. 

8. Outfit of the day, Primark skirt, New Look top, Primark necklace, River Island boots. I wore this yesterday whilst hanging out with one of my best friends. 

9. Drinks with friends in a terrible pub last night. - Terrible pub, the Guinness was served from a CAN! (Not that I drunk it, I'm not a fan of Guinness to be honest) We then ended up in a pub in Winchester; The Royal Oak, which was much nicer! I had half a pint of Aspell's cider, as I was driving.

My £9 dress!

This Saturday my family and I traveled all the way up to Manchester, which was a long 6 hour drive from my home in Southampton. But it was worth it as I got to see my Auntie get married, it was a lovely day and I was so happy to see my Auntie ecstatically happy as well. Her husband's family were lovely and free wine was a plenty. 

We all got dolled up and my boyfriend wore his one and only suit, the same one he wore for my parents vowel renew earlier this year. But it didn't matter because he looked smart and handsome. (Even if his shirt was un-tucked!)

This is Craig and I outside the church, this is a horrible photograph of me however this is the only one I have of my outfit! So it will have to do.

I wore an amazing sale find, which was bought last week in Topshop for a measly £9! I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked to my right to see it hanging on the sale rail, it was gorgeous, then to see the price was even better. 

I tried it on and it felt and looked great, except the slight issue with my tummy..basically I had to buy some 'suck me in' tights. It traveled so well, as the fabric doesn't crease, which is the best thing when you're travelling for so long. I decided to wear this dress with this blue blazer I bought in Zara about two or three years ago now (roughly £40). So it's pretty old, but it's comfortable and such an amazing colour. 

I also wore some plain black court shoes from New Look, which you can not see in this photograph, they were uncomfortable for the simple reason and they were too big when worn with very thin tights. 

All in all we all had a brilliant day and way too much wine, but that's what weddings are for right?

Smart casual?

Yesterday was a busy sort of day, Uni in the morning for my new favourite lesson; fashion styling. It was the first seminar for it and I can't wait to get started! Our first assignment is to restyle a friend, a kind of personal shopping task, which should be fun. 

After that uni was over for the week, so we went into town, where I bought THE BEST top, and a gorgeous brand new coat but I'll tell you about that later. When I got home I had a few bits and pieces to sort out, as well as taking these outfit photos, before I changed because it was colder than I thought it would be! 

This was my outfit for the day time yesterday, I wore my purple/burgundy tank top on that was £3.99 in New Look, along with my New Look maxi skirt and my really old cardigan from the same shop...

This is awkward I just realised 90% of my outfit was from one shop. 

I also wore my necklace from Mint Velvet, I love this necklace it makes any outfit stand out straight away. To contrast this I wore my black authentic vans to give a more casual look, also because I had to throw a lot of my flats out, due to over wear! 

I had bought some shoes yesterday from River Island, however after wearing them last night I realised they were too small for me. As they cut up my ankles, so back to River Island to find the right size soon, in the meantime I'll be sticking to my good old Vans!

Denim shirts

I know I know everyone and their mum has probably got a denim shirt by now, but I couldn't resist! I had previously bought one in New Look, which had gold collar tips on it, however it was £24.99, and it felt thin and like it wasn't going to keep me very warm in the colder months. 

So after taking it back I thought it would be a good idea to find a men's denim shirt. We all know that men's clothes are thicker and so much more comfortable; shirts and jackets especially  So without further a do, we went over to HM, where we headed for the men's section straight away. 

I found this great shirt, it's the perfect tone of denim, the buttons don't look horrendously cheap, the denim is thicker and longer, also it was only £19.99! 

So I snapped it up, today I'm wearing it with a pair of thick leggings also from HM (7.99), my black authentic vans, my dip dye DIY top; which I think works really well, as the colours compliment each other nicely. I also wore a few necklaces that are really old, just to accesorise my outfit.

First day of second year!

I had a horrible rude awakening this morning, when my alarm screamed at me at 9.30AM, yes it was time for the first day of second year at uni! My brain was not ready to be bombarded with information about the assignments that were being set for this semester. I started to get ready and from looking outside my window I could tell it wasn't going to be the nicest of days, however I have a lack of jeans at the moment! So I settled for a pair of brand new velvet shorts from New Look, that I bought about a week and a half ago for £19.99.

I love love love them, they are a gorgeous green colour with black spots all over them, I think they are so cute, especially as they are high waisted. 

Because it was cold out, I did wear tights, but I could have done with a thicker pair as I didn't realise it was going to rain! So my legs were a tiny bit cold but least next time I will know to wear a thicker pair of tights! I wore them with a simple black vest top also from New Look - £3.99 and they are available in loads of different colours, which is always handy to have! 

I also wore my Topshop blazer I bought a few years ago, but they have a similar one in stock on the Topshop website, it is the same price that I paid but is a tiny bit more structured. Can't go wrong with a grey blazer, I think it brings my whole outfit together, and adds another layer seeing as it's getting chilly out! I also wore my topshop boots, which cost me £75 and my necklace is also from Topshop.

So with my outfit all sorted I drove off to uni, it was alright, weird to be back but nice all at the same time. I had forgotten how cold the lecture rooms were, and how good the hash browns were in the cafeteria. So there was pros and cons, including getting our assignments, eeek. Gonna be a busy bee!

Can you see it?

This is one of my soon to be outfits for Reading Festival, which I will be leaving for in a few hours time..eeeek! 

 I decided I wanted a camouflage jacket in general a few weeks ago, I tried to find a cheap one in every charity shop I could think off and all the auction and free ad sites, but to no avail. After posting on Facebook that I really wanted one, a guy I knew from school commented and said, he had just found one at the back of his wardrobe, which I was welcome to have for a fiver!

Seriously five English pounds! When at the moment in shops such as Topshop they are going for up to £75! It is a bit big on me but with the sleeves rolled up and it not done up it doesn't look too big.

I decided it would look great with my Levi shorts, which were also really cheap off of eBay, about £25 if I remember correctly. I also thought what the heck lets go for a crop top, I had bought this in New Look a while ago, for £9.99. It is black lace which is really pretty, I think works really nicely against the masculine camouflage and the Doc Marten boots. Talking of these boots, I can't believe how cheap they were...even now a few weeks on!

I've only really planned this outfit for Reading as I have just bundled a load of T shirts, tops and my trusty Levi shorts, which go with everything, so I'm sure I won't be spending too much time choosing outfits, especially when they're bands to see!

So off I go to Reading festival! It's come around so quickly I can't quite believe it, can't wait to go to my first ever festival, with a bunch of friends (minus my boyfriend, because he didn't fancy going to a festival so massive, which is understandable).

The festival bag

I managed to find a really practical and cheap bag for Reading festival; which is in T minus 3 days by the way! So exicted! 

From my earlier posts you may have seen that I've been looking for a bag I can take to Reading, that will be safe, store all my things such as; tissues, eye liner, money, among other things.  I decided on a bum bag, which I was going to customise with push studs, which I thought would be a great idea. However I couldn't believe how much studs cost in the shops in Southampton! Plus I wouldn't have time to actually buy and customise an old bumbag off of eBay, which is a shame but maybe next time. 

So whilst wondering around town yesterday I found this bumbag, in New Look for a wonderful price of £9.99! I then received student discount off of it as well, so it came to about £8 ish! Amazing seeing as the one in Urban outfitters is £28. I would have loved that one however I'm living on a tight budget and thought this was the best I was going to get for such a great price.

What I Wore on Holiday #2

This is what I wore on the last full day of our holiday, it was super hot and I know black isn't always the best colour to wear in heat, however the floatiness of it counteracted the heat. I bought it from New Look as I needed a new black maxi, as my other one is made of a thicker cotton and that would definitely be too hot to wear in 30+ degree heat! 

It was around £16, it is light and airy and also has pockets...like a lot of my skirts nowadays! I put it with another New Look purchase, this time by my mother, she bought me a few tops the day before going away, they were just from the sale so nothing expensive but great for holiday! 

I haven't worn a 'boob tube' in years, but I love this one. The pattern is great and I love how it's mixed with the vibrant colours and it is so comfortable. (This meant I wore it on the plane back to England as well -because of sheer comfort) 

Again I have worn it with my Urban Outfitters round shades, an anchor necklace I bought from Forever 21 about a year ago and my black sandals from New Look, which you can't see in the photograph however you can read a post on them if you click here - Sunday Sandals post

My parents vow renewal - 23rd June

It was a while ago now, when the sun was shining and it was actually warm outside. This was the day my parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their vows. 

It was a lovely day, with the sun shining and it was nice to have everyone together! 

This is a photo of my and my boyfriend, he wore a brown checked suit from Next and a blue shirt from River Island, which made him look very dapper!

I wore the dress I bought from Topshop, I love love love this dress! I found it on a whim, after running around town trying to find something I went onto the Topshop website only to find it staring at me in the face. 

It was £59 which I thought wasn't too bad for such a gorgeous dress, and I wasn't disappointed when it arrived. I had to wear really high wedges though, seeing as the dress was super long, but that was fine with me; meant I could buy new shoes! 

So I bought some from New Look, for £25 which was reasonable and I will be wearing this outfit when I go on holiday to Tenerife this Monday!

What I wore for my friends 'twenteenth' birthday celebrations

Saturday was my friends birthday, so she had arranged that we all went out for lunch at the local Harvester pub, which was a great shout! I had chicken with Jack Daniels sauce, yum! I also decided to wear this outfit for that, as it was easy and the shirt was new. (Topshop sale - £12)

I decided to leave it open with a black camisole underneath, I love this look it is casual and you don't have to think about it too much but still look awesome. 

I also wore a necklace that I bought from Forever 21 a while ago, because I thought it needed that little extra something! 

Then in the evening, I decided to wear another new item of clothing; which was a skirt I bought in Topshop's sale (standard) which was £18 down from £32! I couldn't resist, the best thing about it is it has pockets! A girl can't resist a skirt with pockets.It's difficult to see but I wore this with my New Look black shirt, with a studded collar which you can read here.

I wore this with this amazing bag from New Look, it grabbed my attention straight away, and I needed a new 'going out bag' so I bought it. It was £14.99 and you can get it in purse form too, so I may have to be purchasing that soon! 

I was wearing my black heels from New Look, which I bought a while ago now and they are really comfy.
