So it's basically December now so Christmas jumpers are a must and this one is so cute! I love the colour and the reindeers jumping about! 

Secret Santa Ideas for under £10

It's getting closer to the big day and secret Santa's are filling up offices and other work places up and down the country. Usually secret Santa's have a limit on how much money you can spend, sometimes going up to £20 - depending on how much you ! Me friends and I are doing our own secret Santa, and we have decided on a £10 limit. This has given me the idea of showing you what you can get for £10. Which is actually very surprising - obviously you can't get all of this for a tenner -I wish!

I have picked out loads of different items from many different shops, some items are actually now on sale which makes them a great bargain for secret Santa's and also items that are just under £10 so you get a tiny but of change.

I hope this gives you some ideas if you're getting a bit stuck on what to get that woman in your office that you have said 2 words to in the time you've been there! Or just a little present for yourself!

In all seriousness I love this outfit because I love wearing black clothes *COUGH GOFF COUGH*

This is what I wore when we went for Ice Cream the other day, fitting I know. It was so hot and I'm running low on summer clothes, this seemed the best thing to go with. 

I'm wearing a black maxi skirt, from New Look. It is so thin, which is good in hot weather because it flows when you walk, creating a (sort of) breeze. It also has pockets! Who doesn't love a skirt with pockets?

I paired it with a black stroppy top also from New Look £5.99. I love this camisole because it looks very basic from the front but it has a 'V' back. I have no idea which shop the skull necklace came from as it was my sisters but I'm sure you can find a version on eBay.

My trusty sunglasses are out again - Urban Outfitters. I absolutely adore this shape, it's unique and the size is perfect for my face, any smaller and it highlights my cubby cheeks!

Fave shoes of the moment, my Topshop Beetle Boots - now I know they aren't the best material, I wish they were made from leather as the inside heel has scuffed on both shoes. However they still look awesome and I just forget about the inside of them.

Overcast - Outfit

Whilst on twitter the other day, I was mentioned in a tweet by @fashvouchers saying I had won a £50 boohoo voucher. I was confused, I can't remember entering a competition but never the less, YAY! I went straight on the website and started browsing. I wasn't sure what I wanted so it took me a while to decide. But Today it arrived! 

I picked 4 things, making the total £61, including a floral shirt, which needs to be exchanged for another size, a grey swing vest and a grey (lots of grey) shall/throw/thing. But the first thing I decided to try on was this dress...

I never want to take it off! It's the Adriana Jersey long sleeve wrap dress, and it cost £15* - amazing value. I can see me getting a lot of wear out of this little number. The top does manage to reveal quite a bit if you're not careful, but I could easily wear a camisole underneath, leaving my modesty intact. I love how it is a sleeved dress but doesn't cover me up too much, making it super feminine, sexy but sophisticated. 

there she is again!

I decided to wear it with opaque tights and my brand new winter boots by Topshop. I picked these bad boys up last week when they were offering 20% off for students. They are the Astrix platform lace up boots, which are £42 (£34 with student discount). Seeing as my other Topshop boots have seen better days, I thought I would treat my feet! I try and buy only one new pair of expensive(ish) boots every year, as I love them and try and limit my boot addiction! It's so difficult, especially when the winter sale comes along. 

These boots are super comfortable and lightweight even though they look like they would weigh your legs down, but they really don't. I can not recommend these boots enough!

I picked up this ring last week in Topshop (again, same trip), I haven't bought jewlery from them in a while however I saw this and fell in love a little bit, it was £4.50, it does make my finger go a bit green, but nothing a bit of clear nail varnish can't sort out!

I am also wearing a necklace bought from Urban Outfitters in their last winter sale and my new favourite colour of nail varnish (again from Topshop) called Overcast, however the photo on their website looks completely different from the colour of it in real life.

Seeing as I reviewed this bag a few days ago, I wanted to do a 'what's in my bag' post. Also to show you how much stuff you can fit in it, I also sometimes keep my note pad in there, if I have a lecture that day at uni.

First things first, I keep my laptop in there, as that's why I bought the bag in the first place. It fits like a glove; but it does weigh the bag down a lot! I have a cover on it, which I bought from Amazon from a company called Gmyle, it was £13.98 for a 15inch macbook cover. It was really easy to attach, and keeps my laptop looking cool and also keeps it from getting scratched or dirty. It also comes in a range of different colours and sizes for all the different MacBooks, including MacBook Air. 

I also have this months Elle, with Kate Hudson gracing the cover, I always keep a magazine handy in my bag, just incase I'm sat somewhere on my own and want something to read or I'm at my boyfriends house and he's doing his uni work, which leads me to have nothing to do. I love the feel of a magazine too, I would never read Elle on my Iphone, or a tablet (even if I had one) because you don't get the sense of owning it, or the feeling of the pages. 

I have an umbrella in my bag at all times, you can never be too sure with the English weather, this one is from Primark, I think it was £3. It has lasted pretty well so far, it's travelled all the way to New York with me too. 

My keys are another necessity of my handbag, with my moustache key ring, which Craig's mum bought me as part of my birthday present last year along with the 'M' that my Auntie bought back from Ireland, it's a good set. 

I can't believe how old my Ipod is but it is still going - just about. It doesn't have a hold button anymore or any of the other bits at the top of it. It doesn't charge properly, so I have to hope that it wants to work when I want to listen to it. But I think it's done very well, I don't need another one yet, I'll wait till this one completely gives up before I buy a new one! Along with that I of course have my Ipod earphones. 

Another really old item is my purse, which I bought for $9 in Urban Outfitters when I was in Florida in September 2010! I love the grey rose print, however it has started to show wear and tear which is a shame, as I can't find another one anywhere that I love as much as this purse! 

Any suggestions? 

I have to take my diary wherever I go, even if I'm not using it, I take it with me because you never know when you might need to use it. I was bought this diary and pen set as part of a Christmas present from my sister, I love it. I always love having a diary but that fact it has a matching pen - a bit of OCD kicking in there. 

Another thing I have to take everywhere I go is of course my phone, I would be lost with out it! Thankfully now I have a compartment for my phone in my new bag, it makes it so much easier not to lose it! I was bought the glittery cover by Craig for one of my Christmas presents, it was from Urban Outfitters. I almost collapsed when I saw the glitter and how pretty is was, and haven't taken it off my phone since! 

Finally the not so glamorous inhaler! I always take this with me, as I have mild asthma but you never know when it might crop up.

I chose the high waisted jeans, because they are a good staple in anyones wardrobe, the wash is great for spring (well the cold spring we're having). The darker wash is also great because it slims my thighs down a bit! I went for the bright blazer because I love it against the dark jeans. The florals are a big trend this spring and will probably be around for quite a while. The light blue cami underneath just adds a more subtle tone to the whole ensemble. I teamed it with white pumps a gold necklace and a white colour block bag. The yellow on the sides of the bag, mix well with the yellow on the blazer and gives it a fun feel. Also 1p less than the £200 budget, that's pretty good right?

This is my holiday outfit. It comes in under budget at £152.97, so with the extra cash I would spend it on holiday essentials, such as: sun lotion, travel shampoo's, body lotions, after sun lotion etc. 

I love this outfit, I chose the one piece swimsuit, it's super stylish and very sliming, and you don't have to worry about weird tan lines. I picked out the blue in the swim suit, for the maxi skirt. I love wearing maxi skirts on holiday, they're so easy to wear and keep your legs cool, but warm enough in the evening. I love the colour of this one from Mango, it's a bit expensive at £34.99 but you could wear it with a lot of things. 

I had to chose a hat, you can't go on holiday without some sort of hat, as well as sunnies! I love the hexagon shape of these, so different from the usual round or oval shaped ones.

This is my party outfit, I would chose this if I was going out with the girls, maybe going for a meal then out to a few bars. I went for a monochrome theme, then adding a splash of colour from the clutch bag, I would have also used the same colour nail varnish as a base coat, under the confetti top coat, however I came up to the budget for the task. 

I love this outfit, as I think you could wear it casually as well - a pair of flats and a bigger bag would help this look be more casual. I went for the pleather T-shirt, as the trousers are patterned, this means it is easy to wear, but the pleather creates a smarter look also adding texture- which is reflected in the nail varnish. I decided on the triangle pattern necklace as it reflects the pattern on the trousers well but is not too 'clashy' the white also means it doesn't add too many colours to this simple outfit.

Just another week #7

Happy Easter everyone! 

Hope you're all having great weekends filled with chocolate and food! As you can see I've been filling my Easter with chocolate and cold and flu medicine, along with tissues. Least I've got the chocolate to make me feel better and less sorry for myself. 

I also popped round my aunties house for a few hours, with my parents, it was nice to see everyone (minus my cousin Gabbie) and we chatted and gave them their long long overdue Christmas presents. I know; can it really be classed as a Christmas present if you give them in March? It was still lovely to see them though and they gave me some great tips on where to go on my upcoming London trip with my boyfriend. 

So onto what's been going on this week, I've decided to put my photos into a different format, as it's easier that way!

1. My new top and necklace from Urban Outfitters sale; the top I adore, it was only £14! It's a tad too big but it's better than it being way too small. The necklace was £8 down from £18. I wouldn't have paid full price for this necklace, as it is very light and doesn't feel like it's worth £18 but I still really like it and it fits in well with my other jewellery. 

2. Zara bag...wonder whats in there (post coming next week)

3. My boyfriend writing one of his last essays for uni - then we went out to Nando's for lunch and then had a nice evening in watching Game of Thrones (recently got into it, only on the first series) 

4. Anti gay marriage leaflet that came through my door (was not happy about this, as I have many gay friends who I think should have the same rights as everyone else) 

5. Slug and lettuce menu - with my boyfriend and the parents in Gunwharf Quays. 

6. Gunwharf Quays dock - Had a lovely day in Gunwharf, mooching around the shops and finding the Cadbury shop and going a bit crazy.

7. Patisserie Valerie chocolate gateaux. I feel terrible saying it, but I really didn't enjoy this cake. I'm sure other cakes are lovely, but this chocolate one really didn't do it for me. I really wanted the cheesecake however they had just sold the last one - seconds before we got there! I'll have to go back and try it, hopefully it will be nicer than the gateaux. 

8. Outfit of the day, Primark skirt, New Look top, Primark necklace, River Island boots. I wore this yesterday whilst hanging out with one of my best friends. 

9. Drinks with friends in a terrible pub last night. - Terrible pub, the Guinness was served from a CAN! (Not that I drunk it, I'm not a fan of Guinness to be honest) We then ended up in a pub in Winchester; The Royal Oak, which was much nicer! I had half a pint of Aspell's cider, as I was driving.

A fashionable bumbag?!

"Fashionable" and "bumbags" are two words that are never seen in the same sentence, however Urban Outfitters seem to have come up trumps with this one. With the studs, fringing and leather, what more could you want?!

I like how there is two pockets, one in the back where you can hide your money and the main big pocket in the front for all your other bits and pieces. 

This would be perfect for Reading festival, I have been looking for a bag that is safe and I know I can keep all of my things on me without losing things out of it. I came across this beauty on the Urban Outfitters website and naturally I fell in love. 

It is however really expensive, at £28, which is fair enough because it is real leather and really beautiful. But on my budget I really can't afford it, however I might look into making my own version, but I'll keep you updated if I do! Love a good old bit of D.I.Y!

What I Wore on Holiday #2

This is what I wore on the last full day of our holiday, it was super hot and I know black isn't always the best colour to wear in heat, however the floatiness of it counteracted the heat. I bought it from New Look as I needed a new black maxi, as my other one is made of a thicker cotton and that would definitely be too hot to wear in 30+ degree heat! 

It was around £16, it is light and airy and also has pockets...like a lot of my skirts nowadays! I put it with another New Look purchase, this time by my mother, she bought me a few tops the day before going away, they were just from the sale so nothing expensive but great for holiday! 

I haven't worn a 'boob tube' in years, but I love this one. The pattern is great and I love how it's mixed with the vibrant colours and it is so comfortable. (This meant I wore it on the plane back to England as well -because of sheer comfort) 

Again I have worn it with my Urban Outfitters round shades, an anchor necklace I bought from Forever 21 about a year ago and my black sandals from New Look, which you can't see in the photograph however you can read a post on them if you click here - Sunday Sandals post

What I Wore on Holiday #1

I wore this outfit in the evening, as the crop top was too hot to wear in the day time. We went to restaurants most nights and I wanted to wear something different  from what I wore in the day time. I have just realised nearly my whole outfit is from Topshop (woops) 

I bought the sandals ages ago for £22, I found that walking around in them all day they became very uncomfortable! However they were great for wearing out in the evening as they were cool and they went with a lot of things. 

I wore it with a skirt I bought in the sale, for £15, which couldn't go a miss! I love the pattern and the fact it has pockets! I love pockets in skirts so much, not sure why but I love them. I can't be the only one, am I?

I then added my sky blue crop top which was £8 and it went really nicely, seeing as the skirt was high waisted, I think it looks great. Then the sunnies are from Urban Outfitters, I love the round frames. Definitely going to wear this outfit again!

Feminine vs masculine

As my sister has been at home this week writing her dissertation, I decided to use her photographic services and asked her to take a few simple shots of my outfit outside. As usually I have to use my dark living room, which isn't amazing for photograph quality. 

Anyway, this is what I was wearing on Thursday this week, that morning I had no idea what I was going to wear, it was a nightmare! I seriously need to sort my wardrobe out, it's starting to get unbearable. 

 Finally I opted for my Zara jeans in beige, which I should wear more as it took me over an hour to get the right size! Seeing as Zara's clothes may say they are size 10 but there are at least 10 variations of a size 10. However these jeans do make my bottom half look naked from far away, but as I took so long finding them I feel like I should wear them more often.  I paired it with my Urban outfitters dark teal shirt, with detailing around the collar. I have never put these items together before however I think it works pretty well. But judge for yourself.

After uni I decided to change my bag, to my 'old lady' (vintage) one my sister bought from a charity shop 5 years ago and gave to me. I adore this bag so much, it has so many little compartments inside including; pen pockets, a small zip up pocket and two main compartments. The stark white contrasts beautifully with the dark teal of my shirt, I also think it's a great juxtaposition between the male shirt aspect and the feminine bag. 

As it was cold outside I obviously had to wear my beautiful coat, it didn't fail to keep me nice and toasty! 

Even though I have never worn this outfit before I will definitely be wearing it again, maybe even to Paris when I go at the beginning of March.

My hatred for cropped tops

This has got even larger whilst walking around Urban Outfitters today when I spotted an awesome t-shirt, folded up on the table. When I got closer and picked it up to have a proper look, I realised that half the top was missing from the bottom.

Why do designers do this and then not make a full t-shirt version?! It frustrates me so much, I would have bought that top if it wasn't half finished. Like many girls I have not got a flat tummy and still would like to wear cool tops. It seems, yet again the fashion industry are promoting their clothes at thin people (old news) because girls who don't have flat tummy's can not always get away with these tops.

Thankfully whilst browsing UO website I have come across a few of their crop tops in normal T-shirt form, thankfully! I'm hoping this will catch on with the other high street shops because I am sick of seeing half finished tops!

I think it's getting obvious that I love moustaches

I got yet another moustache related product to add to my collection. Not that I'm complaining; not at all, I love moustaches. This new bracelet is from a friend of mine who bought me it for my birthday.

I now have loads of moustache related products, since my trip to Florida in September 2010, where I picked up my first moustache product, which was a snow globe from Urban outfitters. I instantly fell in love with it and now I just can't get enough. 

For Christmas my boyfriend bought me a pillow set with one massive moustache on it. There were so many other gifts I have received with that type of facial hair on it. I guess people have cottoned onto the fact, I think they are amazing. 

Most of these are from Urban Outfitters where it seems that facial furniture has a permanent place in their hearts. I'm not sure where the love of moustaches has come from, as many people now are amazed by them. Will this carry on with everyone, or will it be shaved off and swapped for massive eyebrows or even full beards?

Who knows all I know is that these little beauts are going to be in my heart forever.

My quick pick

Today I was thinking of what to wear, when I realised all of my jeans were in the wash, and I had worn a skirt most of this week. So what was left? 

I don't usually enjoy wearing shorts, however I thought, 'what the heck' and grabbed some out of my wardrobe.

                                                         

With these shorts from Republic, I was looking through my wardrobe again thinking what I was going to put with it, then my new shirt caught my eye...I wonder. 

Perfect match. 

Funnily enough they look really quirky together, I love this look. With the teal next to the bright patterned shorts it creates a great juxtaposition. Teamed with my new black loafers and black tights completes the ensemble.

No clue what I'm going to do today however with this look I could do anything from the cinema to a drink with friends at the pub.

Collar detailing and velvet love

You may have read my post on velvet and how much I love it; well I'll get to that point in a minute.

So I was strolling down the high street today, when I happened to walk past Urban Outfitters. I couldn't help myself, I just had to go in; for the second time today, and have a ganders at all their beautiful clothes and shoes and accessories...I could go on but I don't want to bore you.

As I walked in I picked up 8 different items, and then spent the next hour in the fitting rooms, deciding what ones I wanted to buy!

I'm glad I was shopping on my own because I was able to make a good decision about what items I actually wanted and which ones didn't work. However I spent an hour in there because I couldn't make up my mind, so I could have done with someone else around, if I’m honest!

I did think I made the right choice though, I purchased (after much deliberation) a dirty blue sheer shirt, with black velvet collar detail and what look like tiny curtain tie backs, but are in fact supposed to be part of the shirt. I also bought a black velvet skirt, to go with it.

It was perfect. I loved that it was velvet; I was able to buy a whole outfit in one shop; which is a rarity for me! Normally I’m running around the high street just to find something to go with the jumper I had just bought. Most of the time I give up, take the jumper home and try and fit it in with what I have. This time I took initiative and went for it, even though the shirt was a bit pricey, I know I will wear this outfit a lot. It is perfect for day to night; I only have to change the shoes. 

What could be better?

Well, I did find the perfect boots to go with the outfit, they would make it very casual, they were black and laced up, and the best part was they were down to £20 from £75! However whilst trying to find a size 5, I stumbled across a lonely looking boot, looking at it I realised it was size 5. I thought:  “Perfect!” Rumbling through the other shoes and boots, I tried to find the pair to this lonely boot, however it came to nothing. Running up to the pay desk, asking where the other boot, the man behind just simply said: “Maybe it’s gone on its break?” This didn’t help.

Unfortunately I left the shop with no boots.

As I wandered past New Look to get to the bus stop when I realised they must have a pair of simple shoes that will go with my outfit! Alas I was correct, £15 later and a smile from the sales assistant I was on my way home, a very happy bunny with these loafers.
