Friends Forever?

Listening to my mum singing along to Gregory Porter, with the lounge getting darker and darker as the summer sun starts to descend. I sit here and ponder how we manage to loose contact with people you were once best friends with, the people you used to tell everything to, the girls and guys you used to spend your evenings and weekends with and they knew everything about you and vice versa. Where has that all gone?

I write this as I know the feeling, from the moment I left school to go to a completely different college to the rest of my friends – in total 5 of us went to the college that was a little further away, when most of my friends went to the one down the road in my hometown. Unfortunately after a few months the people I had grown up with were just acquaintances, and now years on I wouldn’t have a clue what to say to any of them, which is so sad. I took a risk and it paid off in some ways but in other ways I really damaged my friendship circle.

Whilst at college I of course made new best friends and they became the people I told everything to and spent a lot of time chilling out during and after college, we became so close. Then once again I went my separate way, I decided to forego University for a year to work, whilst one of my friends went off to a Uni far away, and the other two also went into the working world. During this time we hardly got time to chat – life got in the way; there was never time just to hang out whenever in the week or weekend, as we all had different work schedules. I do see them from time to time, but no where near as much as I would like to.

What happens when you get older, will this happen for my whole life – I am hoping not?

All I know is that it is easier to stay in contact with people in this day in age, but at the same time it is also more difficult with so much going on in everyone’s lives, it is hard to fit in a visit to see an old friend. Everyone’s lives are just so full of stuff that we forget the little things – reminiscing and laughing.

I feel that we should all make more effort with the people in our lives, past and present to make sure that we have full futures. Where we sit on a porch and laugh about all the ridiculous stuff we used to get up to when we were 17!

I need to try harder – yes it is difficult to be always the one to text someone first and sometimes you feel like you put in all the effort, but after a while it may become second nature again and you can really value your friendship. I don’t mean talk 24/7 but making sure you are there for people when they need or want you there.

Now I’m 24 I have realised that I need to really cherish the people in my life, and get back into contact with the people who used to be my first port of call. Life has just gotten in the way and I really need to learn how to make time for people I really value as friends.

This post is a way of saying to my self get your arse in gear and see people again, or when I get older less and less people are going to be there for me. I don’t want to lose contact with anyone else. Funnily enough I am going to be meeting up with my three college friends in the next few weeks and I can’t wait. I just want people back in my life!

I always think about my wedding day, who will actually be sitting on my side of the isle, or who will I pick as my bridesmaids – I know it’s not the most important thing, as long as you and your partner are there who cares, but I do. I want to be able to have a few people on my side of the isle!

Friends enrich our lives, so we need to cherish and support them throughout our lives, before they are lost forever.

Outfit - Saturday Vibes

My Saturdays are actually everyones Sundays as my working week starts tomorrow. So today I have not done a lot at all - except for eating left over Easter chocolate of course! Seeing as I've had a relaxing day I decided to wear some really casual clothes.

Outfit - The 80's Print Shirt

Thanks to Elle magazine I went on a little shopping spree on Asos - 20% off voucher in every issue (get it quick, the new one will be out soon!)
I don't usually buy things off of Asos as I find it hard to find the things that I want, but it all fell into place the other day and I found EVERYTHING I wanted.

Asos outfit, shirt, mom jeans and white leather belt

Outfit - The Tartan Raglan

Today I delved into my wardrobe and dug out this tartan raglan that I bought bloody ages ago!  It's from Primark and I hardly wear it but I love it with this faux leather skirt.

Lush - Sex bomb

Sex Bomb from Lush is a gorgeous looking bath bomb the ombre blue to purple and finally going into a bright pink around the back is a perfect setting for the wonderful petals set in the middle. It is quite fragrant with jasmine, ylang ylang and clary sage, which gives off a beautiful sweet and floral scent - what more would you expect from a lush product!

Day Trip Video - Brighton

My friend and I took a trip to Brighton recently and I made a video of our time there. It's not the best video ever made but I'm giving it a go!

If you like it then subscribe to my YouTube channel I hope to make more videos like this soon. Like they say practice makes perfect.

The Happiness Planner 2016

I finally received my Happiness Planner for 2016! I ordered it a few weeks ago but because they were waiting on a shipment I only received it yesterday. But I am so glad I've got it now - is it possible to be in love with a diary?

Outfit - The Ombre Top

I'm not a regular sales shopper but I am likely to pick a few bits out of the winter sales, they are always better anyway! I haven't gone crazy with sales shopping because personally I love the new stock that's coming into stores, but seeing as it's still really cold and a lot of the newer stock is very spring/summer for obvious reasons it felt stupid not to have a look at the sales.

Lush - Magic Wand

One of my birthday presents was this Magic Wand from Lush - it's sparkly, smells like sweets, it's star shaped and comes with bells attached! I love Lush and I was so happy that I was finally able to try out this product, I think they've done it for the last few years - could be wrong... but I just think it's the cutest. It also smells the same as snow fairy, which is basically everyones favourite scent from lush - amiright?
If you don't know what snow fairy smells like then its very sickly sweet fruity scent, and its so good!

What I got for Christmas and My Birthday

I know I'm a bit late to the party but here we go! Seeing as my birthday is boxing day I've just put a load of my presents together. This is just a selection of gifts, of course I got the usual chocolate but I've eaten that all now. I also was given three different mugs which I am using all the time so don't have a chance to take photos of them!
*Disclaimer - this is not a brag or boast.*

Unicorn money bank, gold prism

I love the gold prism that my best friend got me for my birthday, its gorgeous! It opens up on one side, and has a mirrored bottom, I suppose it's kind of a terrarium but I wouldn't put anything inside - unless it was some rings or other jewellery. At the moment its the perfect accompaniment to my unicorn money bank on my bed side table!
Now this unicorn was also for my birthday from my sister - she knows me too well! It's perfect in colour - love gold if you haven't guessed! I haven't put any money in it yet as I already have a money bank I am currently filling up. But I love it like a child...

Lush products, the comforter, sex bomb, rub rub rub, love and light

I was also really lucky to get so much bath stuff! Clockwise from left - The Comforter (the best thing ever from Lush, literally my favourite thing), Rub Rub Rub shower scrub, some egg shaped bath bombs, Sex Bomb bath bomb, Gorgeous face moisturiser, Butter Bear and Love and Light hand cream. I also received the magic wand from Lush too, but I've used it since!

love pudding spoon, pair of converse, three Topshop Nail varnish and a Cat candle

From my boyfriends mum I got the cutest personalised cutlery, it says 'love pudding' on it, which is obviously the best part of any meal! It's so adorable - on one hand I want to keep them perfect forever, but on the other hand I want to eat all my favourite puddings with them!
I was also bought some classic converse by my boyfriend for my birthday, I've wanted black converse for a while now and was so excited when I opened up that box!
The nail varnishes are from my sister and they are such gorgeous colours, they are Topshop which is such a good brand of nail varnish. They were in a little trio called Christmas Berry Nails, in Culture Club, Ambient and Figment.
You can't miss the best thing ever...which is this cat candle! I love it, again my boyfriend bought it for me and it's just amazing. When it's burned (not that I ever want to burn it, oh my it's just perfect) it shows off the metal cat skeleton inside!

Close up of the personalised fork and spoon

Just look at how adorable the fork and spoon is!

Bobbi Brown Make up Manual, Topshop Smoke Stick, topshop mascara, topshop liner, 500 things to be happy about

I was also fortunate enough to get the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual from my boyfriend, which is just amazing. I am no pro at make up, I am barely even a beginner so this book is perfect for me! To go along with this my sister bought me a load of Topshop makeup including a range of smoke sticks in neutral tones - Conspire, Deviant, Murder Mystery, Sinister and Dark Horse. She even got me the Party Proof Intense Mascara, Waterproof Liner and also a Magic Liner. From my best friend I got 'Happiness is...' which is a book with 500 things to be happy about, and it is super cute!

Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf

Last but by no means least my parents got me the Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb, which I absolutely adore! It even came in a gorgeous box with a body lotion and shower gel. I try not to use it too much as I need it to last a whole year as I can't afford to buy myself perfume all the time!

I was so lucky this year - as I said this is just a selection and I'm not trying to brag at all!
A massive thank you to everyone for my gifts (I have already said thank you but I thought I would say it again!). I love them all and can't wait to start using more of the products and items I received.

Do any of you have an awkward birthday?

Outfit - My Septum Piercing Experience

So I'd been thinking about a septum piercing for a while, both my friend and I in fact, and we finally set a day to get it done! Tuesday rolled around and before I knew it we were in Asgard in Southampton filling in a medical form!

It's buy one get one free so it only cost £15 each, which is awesome, so we paid and off we went. My friend got hers done first and she made little fuss, she was shaking and really nervous but didn't make a noise when the needle went in.

I on the other hand...I have a tiny pain threshold - basically none existent.

Not My New Year Goals

Two-thousand and Sixteen with glitter

I remember reading something a while back which said never tell people your goals because it makes it harder to achieve them. This makes a lot of sense to me, it lets you have 30 seconds of someone telling you how amazing it would be and how great you are, then around 10 minutes of you on a high and then you float back down to earth and don’t think about it for a while. Therefore not achieving anything.
