Sports luxe or love?

Thought I would wear this electric blue tank top from Ted Baker today, which I bought last year and seeing as it was a bargain at only £12 or something; a combination of a £10 gift voucher and discount at work. I need to wear it more.
It's the racer back style, they bring them out every year in different colours, which is great for adding colour to your wardrobe. These tops are so easy to wear they are a lovely material that is light, it reacts with the light and it is also full of movement.
I think with the grey marl skirt it looks very sport luxe, which isn't something that I would usually go for, however I love this outfit. I just need a pair of high top trainers and the sports luxe would be complete.

Hope you're enjoying your day!

You may have waited for this, but you probably haven't, because frankly it's not that exciting...

But here is my last purchase from River Island! This skirt I managed to pick up for £12, yes you heard me correctly, twelve British pounds!
It was originally £25 and I couldn't believe my luck, I'd seen this skirt when it was full price and I really liked the colour but decided against it because of the price. But as I was sifting through the sale, I saw it hanging there on its own, it was fate!

I am contemplating taking the skirt up a little bit though, to bring it to my knees. I'm only 5 foot 3 and I feel like I need to have it a little bit shorter, to make me look my height and not a tiny dumpy ginger girl (disclaimer: not that there's anything wrong with that!)
What do you think? Should I take the skirt up or leave it on my calves?

I am wearing it today with a really old Topshop tank top, with the words 'love to love' in some sort of barbed wire design. This is a great top, as it is super simple and easy to wear and goes perfectly with this skirt!

I also added a few rings to my outfit today, the first (left) is from Topshop, it's a semi-precious stone, which I love. The second (right) is from Forever 21 and it was about £3, seriously love that store.

The first week of the Easter Holidays...

I've had such a good half a week, as I've been hanging out with my boyfriends friends, who are all lovely! So I've been so chilled out, driving around, pigeons flying into my cars windscreen; thank god I wasn't going fast so no harm came to this bird! Building fires in the evening, whilst sitting on mattresses, drinking wine and looking at stars. I really have enjoyed my first week of the Easter holidays!

This week I've also bought a few new items for my wardrobe, seeing as it's still overloaded with winter clothes, which is a bit annoying when it's scorching hot sunshine outside!
This is what I wore yesterday, well I was wearing my Levi 501's but then me and the boyfriend went into Southampton, where I bought this dipped hem skirt from River Island and I wanted to wear it as soon as I could find a bathroom to change in.
I'm in a huge phase of wearing maxi skirts, because they are light and airy, they also go near enough everything!
This one was £22 which isn't too bad considering it is super comfy, with the cross over at the front. Also the skinny belt came with it! You all know how I love adding a 'rocky edge' to things and this goes perfectly.

The top I'm wearing was £14.99 and from New Look. I love it! Seriously my favourite top at the moment, it's great because it's summery because it is sleeveless. It is also great because it's black and grey so it will go with near enough anything in my wardrobe.

I bought a few more things but I'll let you wait with baited breath.
Enjoy your day

new shoes?

I love these shoes from New Look.
I have the plain black ones and they are so comfy, so when I saw these bad boys hanging there I had to have them!
They were about £15 which isn't bad considering I need some new shoes and other shops are selling them for over £20 so technically I have grabbed myself a bargain?
Anyway these are so comfy and easy to wear with near enough anything in the wardrobe, I highly recommend them, seeing as they come in all different styles and colours, I may have to add to my collection some time soon!
Hope you're all having amazing days

Summer summer summertime...well it feels like it

I know I've been away for a while, but I have a good excuse, promise! I've been really busy this week, with trips to Camden Ballrooms, to see Los Campesinos, who were brilliant live! Check out there website here!
I also took a trip to a local ice cream parlor, called Carlos. It was another gorgeous day, so we had a bite to eat, then a lush ice cream. I had butterscotch and vanilla with a fudge stick and my boyfriend Craig had blueberry, strawberry and vanilla.
Safe to say we both enjoyed it a lot!

So today has been another stunning day, so my mum and I took full advantage with a trip into Southampton. It was so nice to have the sun blazing down onto my skin, it definitely made me feel a lot better.

We walked around a few shops, picking up bits and pieces for my parents renewal in June.We then started on my quest to find some sunglasses for me, which took a while, because even though I wear glasses, finding sunglasses that suit me takes forever!
We finally strolled out of the sun into Topshop, I tried to put my blinkers on otherwise I know I would have spent more money than I should have! Thankfully the sunglasses stand was only a few steps ahead of me, so I didn't have to venture too far.

I don't know how many of you wear glasses, but when you're trying to find sunglasses it is really annoying. Taking off my glasses to put on the sunglasses, then getting really close to the tiny mirror, to be able to see yourself! I knew I should have worn my contacts today, alas I didn't.
Anyway my mum and I quickly narrowed it down to two pairs, the first being these amazing throwback 90's circular frames...
and these classics...
After a tiny bit of diliberation I went for *drum roll please*

I went for the classics, they look really nice, and they are simple but effective, which is exactly what I wanted. However I do love the 90's throwbacks, so I may have to get those too..I'll let you know
Hope you have all had a super sunny amazing day :)

I'm back!

This last week it's been really difficult finding the time to write a blog, as I've got a deadline for all of my work on Wednesday this week! Who in the world thought it would be a great idea for all the deadlines to be in the same week/day? I think I've finished all my work now, thankfully as I've just finished writing my press pack for a new fashion collection, so I'll proof read that later.

I was just browsing the Topshop website, when I came across this top, which funnily enough is a crop top, the tops that I hate, which I wrote about here a little while ago. However this one has caught my eye, I think it's because it has skulls all over it, I still won't bring myself to wear one; I don't have a washboard stomach!
Talking of a washboard stomach, I think I'm going to start going to the Gym! I thought about it and I need to get into shape, as I have a holiday planed to Tenerife in July and I am also going to Reading festival, which will hopefully be nice weather and I don't want to be baking hot in a full length top.
So maybe soon I will be happy to wear a top like this, well that's the plan!
Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine!

EXTREME!

I'm glad I caught your attention...

I am so excited for these next few weeks, as I found out today that I can use a vintage car free of charge from a company close by (kind of) for a photo shoot I have to do for a uni project!
The theme is '50's diner' and the car I'm borrowing is a 1959 ford Zephyr. I'm just hoping the weather is nice!
So excited, this means things are finally coming together!

Also today I had a lovely lunch at Nando's with a friend of mine; we both ate way too much! Food baby was imminent.

Also today I found myself buying some new eyeliner, seeing as my usual Rimmel eye liner had disappeared from the shelves and there was a promotion on in Boots; 3 for 2 on their collection 2000 makeup, how could I resist? I don't want unnoticeable eyes any longer!
I bought 'Fast stroke' eyeliner, 'intense colour' and also 'Extreme 24 hour felt tip liner'. This one was the one I was most excited by, because I'd never heard of it before; might just be the fact I don't buy make up very often, who knows.

Anyway, I haven't had time to try them all out yet, however I have managed to do a little swatch on my wrist, comparing the 'fast stroke' standard liquid eyeliner with the 'extreme' felt tip liner...
The felt tip liner is the one on the right, and it is so much more defining, and it seams to dry a lot faster which is great! I also did a few quick drawings with it on my hand to see how easy it was. I'm no master at 'eye art' however this liner really did the trick! I highly recommend this eye liner and I haven't even used it on my eyes yet!
The usual liquid eye liner is a bit of a let down now, seeing as you have to keep putting the brush back into the pot, which is a bit annoying when you're in a bit of a rush.

Mary Quant tights

The sun was out in force today, it really was so nice to see the sky so clear, so I took the opportunity to wear my shorts with no tights; which was a first for this year! I also decided it would be a perfect day to wash my car, however when this was all done I really had to get on with some uni work.

So whilst my parents took a trip to Winchester, I have been sitting inside doing work. (Well when I say work, I mean scrolling through the internet trying to find clothes to make into a mood board.)

After a good five hours, researching for my photo shoot, looking for outfits for it as well, my parents got home. My mum walks into my room and explains she's bought me a little present and told me to close my eyes; I must admit I was a bit confused at this point. However when I opened my eyes, I found that I was holding a vintage pair of tights from none other than Mary Quant! They have small multi coloured flowers all over them, they are the cutest.
Amazing!
My mum has done good.

She explained they bought them in a small vintage shop which is down a small alley way in Winchester, which I will be visiting next time I go there!
For now I'm scared to take these out of the packet because I probably will put my finger through them!

Topshop - Walton Bleach wood wedges - £50
About a week ago I hated these kind of shoes! I thought they were ugly and so 90's that, I wanted to cry if anyone actually wanted them.
However something in my brain has snapped into place and somehow I think they are amazing. I have no idea where it has come from, they are still really ugly, however if you were to wear these with the right clothes, they would look amazing!
So summery!

Marilyn...

Marilyn...

This week I have been burying my head in loads of books about Marilyn Monroe. This is for my fashion muse essay at uni. She is such a fascinating person to read about, she really was a beautiful woman.
The amount of photographs in these books is insane, they show Marilyn in so many different lights from cheeky and fun to serious and even worried.
The inspiration for this outfit is taken from the most iconic photograph of Marilyn, from the film: 'The seven year itch'.
The outfit is very simple, as you don't need much to recreate such an iconic scene. The dress is from Topshop; the shimmer skater dress which is £48. The shoes are from ASOS.com called Peter Jensen Simple White Heeled Sandals and they are a lot more expensive, however this is quite a bit trend coming in for summer so they hopefully will be in New Look amongst other high street shops very soon.

Lancôme Hypnôse Mascara

I love this mascara!

A while back I bought a eye liner and eye shadow set from Lancôme, at the same time I was able to get a gift set, with a lot of their items in it; face wash, mascara, make up remover, youth activating concentrate; Génifique, lip gloss, night cream among other bits and pieces for £23ish. I couldn't resist.

Within this kit there was of course their best selling mascara; Hypnôse, it was in a tiny tube so it didn't last me very long, so today I thought I would treat myself. Seeing as where I work had 10% off and then I get my discount on top I really had to buy it.

It is marketed as Custom-Wear Volume Mascara, as you can build up the intensity of your lashes, without them becoming clumpy. Instead, you can go from 'subtle to sexy!

The brush is great, I love that it isn't huge, as it will actually pick up all those little lashes, and coat each one evenly. When I was building my lashes up, I put on two coats and it had already made a huge difference, even giving them a bit of curl, which I always enhance using my eyelash curlers. My lashes are the difficult kind that are naturally straight.

This is one of the best mascara's I have used, as a lot of them are too thin and leave a lot of mess on my eye lid! Which is a pain when you just want to put on a quick coat before you go out.
Overall I love this mascara, even more now that I have the full sized version and it will hopefully last me a lot longer!

There are other kinds of Lancôme mascara's some of which give you huge definition; such as 'Doll Eyes' which will give you amazingly curled lashes and you don't need many coats. Maybe that's the next one I should try!

Lancôme have a great range of products, from face creams to eye liners, they really do have everything you would need. It is expensive, the mascara coming in at £21 but it really is worth the money. I will always be a Lancôme girl, even if I don't have any money I will still lust over their products.

First day of Spring?

I rolled up my blind this morning and all I saw was the bright sunshine, and a few trees moving in a wind. I thought to myself: 'It's Spring! At last!'

So I decided to go for a spring outfit, keeping tights on of course; it's still a little bit chilly outside, I also kept my biker jacket on (I seriously love that thing). Throughout the day I kept getting really hot, which was a good thing of course, because it means summer is slowly but surely coming along!

So anyway my outfit today...I went with my Levi 501 vintage shorts and a Primark top, which I bought the other day, it was only £3!

I love this top, I bought it in a size 18 as the other sizes look teeny tiny! You can't tell as it's tucked in, but it is very long, comes half way down my thigh. Which is perfect because it means, I can also wear it with leggings!
Other things that make this top amazing, one: it has moustaches on it and two: someone at uni thought it was from Topshop. Which was amazing for such a cheap top!
I think I've done good, this time. All I need to do is take off the tights and I'm all ready for summer sunshine!

So it's been a very good day today, from the sunshine, to finding that I have this Saturday off of work, which means I can spend some quality time with my boyfriend.

Qu'est-ce une ville, Paris

I was lucky enough to go to Paris with my uni course, last Thursday and what an amazing 4 days it was! Just getting off of the euro tunnel onto the Parisian soul was amazing, even though the sky was grey it didn't feel dull at all.

We stayed in a nice business hotel just outside of the center, but it had great metro links into the city. I loved how clean Paris was, and how easy it was to get around. On the first evening we ventured to the Eiffel Tower, as it was dark it was lit up and it looked beautiful! I'd been to Paris before when I was 12, however you don't appreciate how beautiful things are when you're that young. So I was glad to have the chance to go back and experience it a lot better.

That evening, we went to an Italian, we had to go into it as it has glitter on the walls outside, along with cute little fairy lights...it would have been rude not to! We had a lovely meal with even nicer wine! (these two things were a constant whilst in Paris)

On the next two days, we wandered around Paris, visited the Louve and various other museums, I would have loved to spend a lot longer in these places, however I didn't want to be wandering around and then losing everyone else in the process. Also it gives me another reason to go back to this wonderful city!

We did decide to go to the Isabel Marant show, where we stood outside for an hour, on the cobbles whilst models ran past us, and a few famous faces showed up. However we didn't get to go in and see the show, which was a shame. I didn't have the guts just to walk in!

I have two highlights of the trip, the first one being, the padlock bridge that goes across the river Seine. It was the most romantic thing I have ever seen! Thousands of padlocks and bike chains attached to the bridge, with names of couples on each one. Whilst walking across this bridge, there were a couple that had just got engaged, it was such a cute moment. Paris is one of those places where kissing and cuddling in public is not considered over the top, it's more romantic.

My other highlight was the last evening, where we started off with a quick 'Paris by night tour', which was a little bit of a let down. However after that we walked up to the Sacre Coeur, which had the most amazing view of the city! Before I got to see it, I did have to climb about 200 steps, and nearly have an asthma attack! But it was definitely worth it.

Afterwards we took a very long walk to a gorgeous restaurant, where I sat with my lecturer and two friends, whilst eating, chatting and of course drinking wine! The restaurant was amazing, it was an old converted railway station, which looked just like the film 'Ratatouille'.
The waiters were so good at their jobs, with ours writing our order down on the table, then memorising it and coming back with 7 plates on one arm! I was amazed.
All in all I had an amazing time in Paris, and I can't wait to go back at some point!
